Setting the date is safe... it has no impact on the game.

Definitely don't set monthsPassed to a negative value! It will have tons of bad side effects, some completely game-breaking.
We use this internally for "New Battle" game mode.

If you want to keep the early game for longer, you can reset monthsPassed back to zero every month, or every few months.

Sorry, that's not how the engine is designed.

East should first check for east wall on same tile (object, bigwall type 6).
South should first check for south wall on same tile (object, bigwall type 7).

Added.

Additionally, East checks also for bigwall type 8 (southeast)
Aditionally, South check also for bigwall type 8 (southeast)

North checks for bigwall types 5 and 9.
West checks for bigwall types 4 and 9.

Looks like it's failing already at loading the original game files.

Does it work without the resound mod?

Does it work without any mods?

Added 4 new fields to decrease counters: decreaseCounterSuccess, decreaseCounterFailure, decreaseCounterDespawn and decreaseCounterAll.

Counters cannot be decreased below zero.

DISCLAIMER: do not (mis)use this to decrease the game's internal object counters... if you do, the game will crash eventually

I wrote about this a couple of years ago. This is from statistics overflow. Try in "options.cfg" set "soldierDiaries: false". Perhaps it will help.

He replied a couple of posts ago that it was resolved after a reboot.

By the newest OXCE for X-com files v 2.2 you mean v2022-01-10 or is there a newer version ? As I tried version 2.2 X-com files for my android phone (which has OXCE v2022-01-10 installed) and for some reason I cant get it to work, fortunately version 2.1b still works fine.

what error do you get?

Load saves from version 2.1 and run
game crashed

XCF 2.1 saves are not compatible with XCF 2.2.

You have two options:
1/ fix the save yourself (remove invalid regions and invalid missions)
2/ upgrade to OXCE 7.4, which will fix the save for you (it's also required for the new mission fnctionality)

I'd recommend option 2/

Currently cant fix description strings in Ufopedia.

I've added new fields for custom short names in the ufopedia.

Example:

Code: [Select]
items:
  - type: STR_RIFLE
    confAimed:
      shots: 4
      name: STR_BIG_BOOM
      shortName: STR_BIG_BOOM_SHORT
    confSnap:
      name: STR_SMALL_BOOM
      shortName: STR_SMALL_BOOM_SHORT
    confAuto:
      shots: 2
      name: STR_SMALL_BOOM_X2
      shortName: STR_SMALL_BOOM_X2_SHORT

Code: [Select]
extraStrings:
  - type: en-US
    strings:
      STR_BIG_BOOM: "Big boom"
      STR_BIG_BOOM_SHORT: "Big (x{0})"
      STR_SMALL_BOOM: "Small boom"
      STR_SMALL_BOOM_SHORT: "Small"
      STR_SMALL_BOOM_X2: "Double boom"
      STR_SMALL_BOOM_X2_SHORT: "Small (x{0})"

Feature will be available in OXCE 7.4.1

do you want four new counters or is a single flag (increase or decrease) enough?

If the local administration does not understand this, then I feel sorry for her and the entire project.

The administrators have already issued an official statement.
You can read it here: https://openxcom.org/forum/index.php/topic,7614.msg119992.html#msg119992
OXC and OXCE devs all agree on this.

TLDR: we are definitely not going to take sides

Personal opinions from Meridian that may not represent the views of any other OpenXcom contributor follow:

If you use even a single cabbage sprite from the original UFO resources or a single pipe sprite from the original TFTD resources, your content is NOT original. That applies to Dioxine, to Ethereal and to Hobbes alike. For me, you are all the same. Only work of robin and similar authors, that have done every single pixel themselves counts as original. Feel free to argue about it as much as you want here, as long as you follow the forum rules. Meridian out.

On my end, an average mid campaign XcomFiles save (~3 MB) takes about 2-3 seconds to load.

If you upload one of your saves, I can try to load it.

You can also try downgrading OXCE to see if there is any change.
From coding perspective, there wasn't any change I'm aware of that could affect save/load times.

PS: what is a "all mods patch" ??
