Three days ago version 2.5 was relased, two years after 2.4.

Here's changelog:

Downloading now. Might look at free orion as well.

Thank you. :)  You propably have Grenade Launcher mod activated. This Pack has the same grenade launcher with the same code, some slight changes only ,so that might cause crashing/mixup. This pack also uses partly the same code as the Shotgun mod has so THAT also can cause trouble also. Other than that, this should work flawlessly *cough*

Fix should be simple, just deactivate Grenadelauncher mod and shotgun mod for a while when you use this mod.
You were correct. Will deactivate.

i thought i added line "droid/DONTBUY" for that medical droid... simply, just dont use it yet before i fix it for 1.1 version.

OK, will do.

Dear Ryskeliini,
I have found another problem. The game CTDs when one attempts to tranfer the medical drone from stores onto the Skyranger.

Offtopic / Re: Falling Skies new season started yesterday

I'm with this guy. I love me some sci-fi, but this ... this was just bad, in my opinion.
The first season started well, but now it feels like its being written by a commitee. (Or a bunch of people on a forum like for mod packs).  The latest little girl/ high priestess looks like its turning into the same idea i've seen in stargate, V, etc. merge the races and superman appears though its usually supergirl. Yeh think its broken for, but then again I'm such a SciFi nut that I'll watch it to the bitter end. I did with Star Crossed. Feels like its written by a commitee just now. Even The Hundred is better, but then again its just started. Wait til the Men in Suit have their input. Of course my favourite series was Dr Who. I watched it from the 2nd episode for 20 years. The effects are naff nowadays, but still occasionally watch an episode (Got them all, and all the Stargates, and Babylon 5.
Yes, Falling Skies started with promise and the just run out of ideas.

No, unless you mean the Warehouse 18 series. (Of which I've seen one episode.)
No. This:https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080836/

Released Mods / Re: Mod Compatability
« on: June 29, 2014, 03:59:35 am »
Yes, they will.  It won't cause any problems, but they modify the same things, so one will overwrite (partially) the other.  Enable them one at a time and decide which you like best and just go with that one.
And so I shall.

Y
I also love the original X-Com: Enemy Unknown, but X-Com 3: Apocalypse was great ! As said previously, you just have to turn on the realtime combat and play. For me it qualifies as a full X-Com game.

What do you all think of the UFO After-series? I hated Afterlight for two reasons:
1) The entire game is on a time limit
2) Cartoony graphics (compared to Aftershock)
I take Aftermath as a average game, due the biomass crap and also the game going from extremely easy in the first half, to almost unplayable in the second (rather slowly, starting with special story missions)
Hovewer, there has been a mod (I've played it like before 4 years) that changed Aftermath into X-Com: Enemy Unknown (no, I do not mean UFO: Extraterrestrials or any other game ..), with fully 3D rendered Etherals (with capes, wohooo) and stuff with superhuman difficulty (lets say you are a band of survivors with several pistols, rifles and steel pipes, and an army of sectoids, floaters etc with plasma guns and blaster launchers is standing against you ..... let's just say you will have alot of casualties). I will maybe post a link to this mod if is somebody interested (and if I can find it)

And the best UFO strategic game in my opinion? UFO AFTERSHOCK WITH TONS OF MODS.
Seriously, the graphics are great, everything is allright, paced right ... used mods to add alot of real-life weapons and many sci-fi ones etc .... the only thing that bothered me was psionics (useless in Aftershock) and the guy doing Weapon Rebalance mod (that rebalanced absolutely everything including making better wargots and solving some bugs and glitches) stopped doing it, and the next thing in his list to do in his new version was to make better psionics, psionics weapons, etc. Dammit. The Shock game didn't have as many patches (Math had 1.4 ; Light had 1.5 + 1.6 official fanbased but Shock has only 1.2) as the original creators wanted to make it really like UFO:Defense, having sooo much things in it, but they got bankrupt :-(  because of that.

So my favorite UFO games:
1) UFO: Aftershock
2) UFO: Defense (X-Com: Enemy Unknown)
3) X-Com: Apocalypse
4) UFO: Aftermath and Afterlight (both had their faults)
[I haven't played Extraterrestrials or any of the spin off games like Interceptor and Alliance]

And now the main reason Afterlight sucked - NO CUSTOM NAMES WHATSOEVER !
Among other things like fairly limited soldier pool etc, etc.
The main reason why Aftershock sucked for most people - Extremely glitchy and crashy, could crash anytime, even the most up-to-date version had bugs that could randomly prevent finishing the game (the mothership bug, the starghost bug, the acces item by raiding a cultist temple bug) ...
Yes please give me the mods names so I can find them. For all three games that is.

[EDIT] found the combo mod for aftermath.

I've never heard of it. I probably need to at least take a look. :)

But I started watching the classical UFO series. And like it.
ever seen the film hangar 18.
Are you talking about the UFO files?
or the ufo TV series from 1969. (which I watched first time).

Offtopic / Re: Enforcer wasn't THAT bad.... Right?
« on: June 29, 2014, 01:20:21 am »
XCOM Enforcer so far seems like a shooter thats actually pretty decent. The only levels I struggle with so far? The one on a boat where you survive for 5 minutes(I keep falling into the water trying to dodge everything, and double tapping A or D causes you to jump to the side.)

The voice acting is okay.
Bet you got it as part of the steam bundle.

Did they finally implement destructive terrain or is their project still stuck in 1970s?
Yup thats what broke it for me. They also needed more soldiers like Xcom, or more soldier depth like ufo aftermath

Hello. my name is Bob. and I have been playing wargames since 1970, RPGs and Diplomacy since 1974 (1st generation- ie preD&D). Even published some boardgames with friends (anyone remember Robert the Bruce). And RPG scenarios eg The Daughters of Darkness. Unfortunately I left games design just as computer games were starting. Biggest mistake of my life.
Now here I am reevaluating this old favourite and considering doing a computer games design course at Abertay Uni, here in Dundee, just to contribute. Free education from the Scottish Government. (Scots wha hae and all that). One of the games I considered publishing was based on the killing of hostages in Iraq during the first war, unfortunately ethics got in the way and I remained poor.
Since then I have aquired among others an MA in Social Anthropology, BSc in Osteopathy, PGDip in Nursing, I am a Fellow of the RAI, and was a member of the now defunct GDGA. Basically life's been interesting if not very lucrative. Also writing a screen play for kicks.
Beset by sleep apnoea (apnea in American) I keep funny hours and may appear on these forums at any time (so beware).

Released Mods / Re: [COMPILATION][RESEARCH] FMP Core/Tech Tree part
« on: June 29, 2014, 12:11:23 am »
Yes, Falko, exactly what I'm thinking. :)
His first idea was what I had in mind. Various armours+- belt.
Is there a plan to bring all aspects of the The Final Mod Pack into one thread (I'm finding it all over the place) or is it still largely at the developmental stage.

Work In Progress / Re: Long War
« on: June 28, 2014, 11:38:11 pm »
I plan to release a beta version very soon for people to actually test, so you'll be able to compare it. Still, this is not the only possible Long War mod, so perhaps we'll learn from each other? :)
How many long war mods are there then?
Is OpenXcomWar such a mod?
