Offtopic / Re: PSI preferences....

I used to hire 100s of soldiers picking out highest bravery and in the mission, if a soldier's morale becomes affected by psi attack, well he/she is either killed (on my orders) or sacked immediately after the mission. I have a very tender memory where landing at a alien base, first turn is psi attack which controlled my best soldier and he primed the bomb inside my craft...... Doomed before I had a chance.

Sorry I should have been more clearer! But yes I felt that micromanaging is an important part of Xcom, essential even!

So,as we know, the PSI labs takes time to research.... Build..... Then wait another month just to find out the capabilities of your soldiers.... Not easy or convenient for most of us but I wondered, what are your preferences....?
Go vanilla or use the options to make life easier to screen the soldiers?

Open Feedback / Research tree....

I am not entirely sure but on TFTD, I complete my first mission, I get artifacts, but i can only research a select few before unlocking more research items in your inventory... i.e. Plasma Pistol, ==> Plasma Rifle ==> Heavy Plasma

OpenXcom EU.... I complete my first mission, I get artifacts, but i can research ANY item, so can start research Heavy alien weapons immediately? Is this right? Or is it a bug? Or is it something I've missed?? (Never played original EU, just original TFTD!)

I bought Xcom EU, i was massively disappointed to find all the micromanagement feature that OpenXcom has, is gone, in effect, dumbed down massively to gain a wider audience as much as possible.

Xenonaut, I also bought, I was also massively disappointed too, and in fact, it is probable unplayable, as even though the screen size tailors to your monitor.... the text layout/size remains the same, so ends up VERY TINY to the point it was HARD WORK, just to READ what's on the screen....  :-\
