Are you using native AdLib version?
Can you try MP3 / OGG format from mods?

Here.

Legacy saves support done by SupSuper, so better to ask him. As I can see, TFTD support is fairly easy task since UFO share same (usually) data structures. Difference is low-level format of saves.

19
Well, TFTD legacy saves are not supported yet, sorry (heh, I skipped that part of your post and thought that is XCOM1 save :)).

20
Well, I checked saves, and I got question: it is unusual XCOM? One of your Skyranger have weapon slots. Is there XcomUtils used before?

OpenXcom has debug string in options.cfg, but in your case this is useless - game didn't expect fatal errors in your saves, so there no verbose information. It cannot handle corrupted/malformed data from legacy saves, so it fails with generic throwing exeption.

21
Yes there definitely error. I'll try to see on it today.

Hello.

I created some time ago Openxcom Nightly for Ubuntu: https://code.launchpad.net/~winterheart/+archive/ubuntu/openxcom
You can check it out. There two major issues left:

1. openxcom package relies on system yaml-cpp, so if you have decent Ubuntu release, openxcom will fail because faulty yaml-cpp 0.5.2 (here bug in launchpad - https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/yaml-cpp/+bug/1513431). Only acceptable solution as I can see - to use yaml-cpp from knapsu repository.
2. Translatons are bit outdated, there some issues for importing from Transifex, this will be fixed soon.

Yeah, I got your problem.

Ubuntu 15.10 uses yaml-cpp 0.5.2 which has bug in code that prevents openxcom to correctly working. You need 0.5.1 or manually patched 0.5.2. If you already added knapsu/openxcom PPA, you can install libayml 0.5.1 from it.

Well, I'm pretty sure that this semi-official package pretty well outdated and bugged. Better to use Nightly. First, which Linux distibutive do you have?

Spoiler:
Я практически уверен, что эта "неофициальная" сборка сильно устарела и содержит баги. Лучше переключиться на ночную сборку. Для, начала, какой у тебя дистрибутив Linux?

If they do scream, then deathSound in your yaml have non-negative number, and game not crashes (lucky). Normally they should hatching silent (as I saw from git log and rules).

Well, we can use combination of zombie+chryssalid attack growls for new sound (48 and 49 in SAMPLE.CAT).

Mysteriously the bug does not occur in my Hardmode Expansion Mod, even thou i did not change the ZOMBI unit in any way and i am useing the vanilla Zombi stats and settings.
This really is very very strange.

Maybe your zombies screams on death? :)

OK, here fix: https://github.com/SupSuper/OpenXcom/pull/1065

If you can't wait for fix and new nightly, just remove string "deathSound: -2" at the end of file "standard\xcom1\units.rul" (that simple plain-text file) and all will be fine.

Where your data-files came from? If from DOS-version, do you patched data with latest patch from here?
