So, I have first year alien base. I remember I saw somewhere that they are not supposed to happen in the first two years. Is it manageable, or is it a game over now? Is it supposed to be like this in this version?

I guess I figured out for now that there is some general guidelines for me, which I should follow. I'm writing it because maybe somebody will have same problem as me. Which is failing third time:)

So, its important to rush things. I believe its ineffective but will give you needed funds and promotions faster. Without higher level missions you can't really get money, without money you can't build bases needed for invasion. No decent equipment availible, its not vanilla, you can't overvhelm strategically. Playing blind is not an option - you need to rush things , until you consider using tech viewer as a part of blind playthrough. It seem to be important to complete all missions before the invasion. Visiting them for points is not  enough.

Middle click is your friend. In battle, middle click and enemy and middle click on the sprite to get ufopedia information. If you don't get more information, it means that you haven't researched them, and you should capture.
Middle click on a research topic to see where it can lead. Press q to search for interceptor and see what you need to research it.

It really felt for me like I was pretty fast, rather than slow. I capture people even when failing. At the other hand, maybe I skipped too much missions - I don't like some of them and I honestly scared about going to some higher tier cult missions without 8+ men. I wish the mod was more like Xpiratez in the term of skipping stuff. Or maybe the ability to buy needed research, like, again, in Xpiratez.
Also, I could not mouse click till the very last OXCE update, cause I'm on mobile. The last update was great, because it brought me buttons in battlescape.

I wonder what is the drama behind all of this mods appear/disappear all of a sudden. I remember Xpiratez was semi-unavailable for some reason, now this one. I just wanted to try it this week.

Off-topic, but Area-51 is actually a pretty decent game. The first one, the second is not.

So, I failed campaign second time, I need some guidelines for the next playthrough.

It all was fine - I got constant fund raises throughout the years. I researched stuff till I have nothing to reasearch. 50 scientists, 2 bases, stable +2mil a month. But 1999 arrives and I have no interceptors. '-1400' rating. I expect game over next month.

I prefer blind playthrough, but I don't know what to do, help.

Big thanks for the buttons! its revolution! My little soldiers finally can run! I can finally check the info about an enemy. And no need for precise swipe!

It works on Meizu 5c. The mod I use is a recent Xcom Files version 1.7.

I'd ask to be able to be abe to toggle the buttons on forever.

wait a minute... will Govt Forces do base raids, or does it always just result in raiders, spartans, whoever else?
would be pretty groovy seeing MPs and Govt Enforcers kicking down the door FBI style

They did it in my playthrough. For some reason they attacked my base at the very end of the campaign. At that point it was totally out of blue. I had maxed out relations(funds) with everyone but Australia.

I believe I must say that I have some history of moving the .sav files around different versions of the game and mods. For instance: my mobile version didn't allow me to research the Conqueror before I put the sav into the PC version. So, I believe the .sav must be pretty glitchy or contain some seriously outdated mod data.

I don't recognize the arc welder. My version of the game doesn't show it anywhere. But I did have Metallo, bike and juggernaut suits in my playthrough. So it is maybe a version issue.

Chemo- Didn't work for me until I wasted few of my troop carriers on some random missions where I was  unable to scratch some armored dudes. I mean its comfortable to carry around assault rifles and machineguns, its cool to melee things with axes and rockets go boom spectacular... but it all ends up on a moment when there is like 10 of your dudes against a single their in the middle of a burning crate at the end of a mission and no way for you to kill it, because resistances and armor. So, then I start to use chemo as a side option and then as a primary.

I remember reading some reviews of the mod before. People there finished it in years or something. I guess a complete blind playthrough may take way more time than 5 months or even a year, especially when short of time in real life.

I'll put a .sav file and a jpeg. For some reason I had problems with screenshotting it before.

I meant Xcom feels better on PC, but in the end it suits better for mobile. So now I will keep playing on mobile. The next thing I play is Xcom Files.

EDIT(maybe spoilers): I want to mention that despite the Chronicles tab, the real MVP of the game was Deathblossom Smg in chemo- variant.   In general chemo-variants of shotguns and smgs are great against mostly everything.

I didn't make it on PC, because it is long and grindy. But it works on a phone for me. Actually I started Xcom Files after finishing this one. Quite a lot of stuff just feels better, like graphics for instance. Interface feels right. And the nature of a game which is too grindy for my liking on PC changes to episodic 30-60 minutes blasts on mobile.

The only downside I see from a PC version is some of the extended controls (run, strafe, chainfire and tech overview) doesn't work on a phone because no keyboard. I wish they made on-screen buttons for such functions, like the button for the yellow robot's punch.

Did you overwrite the files or did you install them clean? The former frequently leads to file corruption and errors. also not all armors have all slots, and these slots are not immune to balance changes.

I just put my .sav files into my other game install save folder. I made some checks - all my armors has no non-vanilla slots. Also my amulets turned from 1x1 to 2x1.

I made it all because the version I played(the one with working slots) had no Conqueror for research. The other version had it. So at this point I just finished the game without amulets and called it a day. At this point I am not sure which version is newer(I have .1a1l and .k2)

By the way, thank you, legionof1, for helping all this year with the game.

Thanks for the great game, Dioxine, all of the people who made this mod and OpenXcom itself and the whole port possible (and Microprose, but they probably all dead or something). Thank you all, forum users, for replies to my stupid questions. Especially legion1. I don't post victory posts, but usually no game takes a year to finish. Also, its great that the game is playable on Android, so I was able to play it pretty much wherever I went this year. I changed three jobs while playing it. Literally.

I want to say that the changes the mod makes with the game, all of the content it has, small tweaks of the original gameplay, like hand-to-hand combat, and others they are so wonderfull and add so much to the game - its all amazing. The sick anime world of the mod is great and I literally want to see an anime or movie in its setting.

 After moving my save between versions my inventory has no amulet, body and head inventory options. Help!
