Released Mods / Re: Amiga/PSX Fonts
« on: November 09, 2013, 01:54:02 pm »
Awesome job. Especially loving the big font. There was a spacing bug with the uppercase Ğ character due to a stray pixel. Other than that, I'm happy to report that Turkish characters are flawless!

Fixed version attached.

Work In Progress / Re: Manage Alien Containment UI

For the background, third (research) is the best fit.

For the text, I would replace "Dead Aliens" with "Selected" or "To Be Removed". The rest is ok.

...Unless of course, you would be willing to implement checkboxes.

Apologies. I did not mean to pester  ;D

Actually, some of those new strings were already in nightly 2013_10_27_2053. When they up and disappeared, I thought there was some problem in downloading from (as opposed to uploading to) GetLoc, because they were still visible on the web site, intact with their translations.

I figured it was probably something trivial and certainly would be fixed sooner rather than later -- I just wanted to save you the trouble of hunting them all down, if it would help any.

So, the sync with GetLoc is still a manual process? In that case, I'll keep my trap shut and be patient next time.  :-[

With the last few nightlies, some strings have vanished from localization files. Modifications to other strings on GetLoc seem to be synced OK.

These are the gremlins (from tr-TR.ylm):

STR_DATE_UC
STR_MAXFRAMESKIP
STR_MAXFRAMESKIP_DESC
STR_MEMORIAL
STR_PSISTRENGTHEVAL
STR_PSISTRENGTHEVAL_DESC
STR_RESET
STR_SOLDIERS_LOST
STR_SOLDIERS_RECRUITED

There is also a mismatch in STR_DAY entries:

en-US.yml:
  STR_DAY:
    one: "{N} day"
    few: "{N} days"
    many: "{N} days"
    other: "{N} days"

tr-TR.yml:
  STR_DAY:
    1: "{N} gün"
    2: "{N} gün"

Edit: A similar mismatch is also present with the following entries:

  STR_UNITS_IN_EXIT_AREA:
zero: "No Units in Exit Area"
one: "{N} Unit in Exit Area"
few: "{N} Units in Exit Area"
many: "{N} Units in Exit Area"
other: "{N} Units in Exit Area"

  STR_UNITS_OUTSIDE_EXIT_AREA:
zero: "No Units outside Exit Area"
one: "{N} Unit outside Exit Area"
few: "{N} Units outside Exit Area"
many: "{N} Units outside Exit Area"
other: "{N} Units outside Exit Area"

Here you are.

Removed the Turkish names, removed several dupes and sorted the lists while I was at it.
I don't have any means to verify the remaining names either.

Sorry for the necro. I compiled some Turkish names, so if the window for applications is still open, I'd like to throw them through ;D

By the way, I was going through the other files and I noticed that the first 132 names in Hungarian.nam are all Turkish. It kinda looks like a copy/paste mishap to me.

Thanks for the responses. (Hi there, SupSuper!)

I'm attaching the modified font files. There are six new characters. I worked on the images from git_master_2013_10_09_2356. I took care not to disturb the existing characters and took an image diff to confirm.

Well met, kkmic. Thanks for the warm welcome.

Now that the lang files are sync'ed with Git repo, I finally had the chance to test my work so far. Turns out, there are several Turkish characters missing from the font files. I would like to start working on them right away, but I don't want to step on anybody's toes. Conflict resolution in image files would not be pretty, I guess. ;D

Is anybody else working on the font images right now? Or should I ask this somewhere else, perhaps in its own thread?

Hey there. My first post ever, so, again, Hey there!

I took the liberty of adding another language at the GetLoc site. Is there any way to export the language files so that we could test the translations locally? Nevermind, they are sync'ed with the Git now. Thanks.
