Translations / Re: Testing out Transifex, new localization website
« on: October 10, 2014, 09:41:57 am »
So you had to actually go and change the language codes and string keys to accommodate transifex. It better be worth it (well, it seems to be, so far).

Now you'll have a support case in your hands for the people who are updating their installations with the nightlies due to duplicated language files.

Anyway, after changing the language option manually, I'd like to report everything is working fine. Thank you very much.

Thanks, Sup! As already stated, great work.

Two issues so far:

  • The language codes (tr, etc) for most of the languages seem to mismatch with the values already established, so the YML download and upload does not work directly without editing.
  • Some languages seem to have a weird STR_1 in there, which naturally causes OXC to barf.

You're probably already aware of these - just posting in case you aren't. Not trying to bug or rush you  ;D

Also, my language team had an election and the result was that I should be appointed the reviewer by 100% of a total of 1 votes.  8)

Suggestions / Re: the 80 item limit
« on: July 06, 2014, 12:00:23 am »
...it's in the nightly...

Not that I would ever use this but I wanted to test it for translations.

As of "2014_07_05_2112" the new mod doesn't seem to do anything.

Edit: Found the problem. The game is looking for "maxItems" whereas the mod defines the values as "items".

Edit2: Fixed now. Thankies.

I'd vote for her.

Nice and "shiny", thanks. I added the Turkish translation. Needed to convert the file to UTF-8, so I'm attaching the whole file.

Also, I was curious how it looked before the fix, so I downgraded for a screenshot. Funny stuff:

Turkish:
Code: [Select]
LangString NAME_SecPortable ${LANG_TURKISH} "Taşınabilir Kurulum"
LangString DESC_SecPortable ${LANG_TURKISH} "Tüm ${GAME_NAME} dosyalarını aynı dizine kopyalayarak taşınabilir bir kurulum oluşturur."
LangString NAME_SecSteam ${LANG_TURKISH} "Steam üzerinden Başlat"
LangString DESC_SecSteam ${LANG_TURKISH} "Steam üzerindeki X-COM 1 kurulumunuzu ${GAME_NAME} kullanacak hale getirir. Program kaldırma ile değişiklikleri geri alabilirsiniz."

This happens sometimes, when new strings are added to GetLocalization. For some reason, automated build fails to synchronize all the strings. The missing strings are simply absent from the language file temporarily.

It will most probably fix itself with the very next nightly. If not, it'll probably require some manual nudging from SupSuper. It has happened before. Nothing to be concerned about.

Edit: The hourly language files are up-to-date now. Download this if you cannot wait for the next nightly: https://openxcom.org/translations/latest.zip

Released Mods / Re: [STATSTRINGS] Warboy's Custom Statstrings
« on: June 11, 2014, 09:31:39 pm »
Another vote from me, in favor of changing it.

It's not like going on a mission "unlocks" something for the rookies. The moment the recruits arrive at the base, their stats are already there for all to see. Since this is only for convenience, it doesn't make any gameplay sense to withhold the feature until after a mission.

Released Mods / Re: [WEAPON] Tactical and Reinforced Shotguns
« on: May 30, 2014, 05:08:02 pm »
Just started an ironman run and the aliens are kicking my ass. Two terror sites before I was even able to spot a UFO. Apparently I'm gonna be needing all the help I can get, so I added the shotguns to my armory. Here's the Turkish translation in the way of thanks:

Code: [Select]
  - type: tr-TR
    strings:

I have no business with the new chars, so no new feedback from me.  ;D
Just posting to say thanks and still lovin' it.

Edit: spoke too soon. Everybody has business with at least the infinity symbol. Which is gorgeous.  ::)

Troubleshooting / Re: resolution problems

those would be some of the problems and inconsistencies i foretold earlier in the thread ;)

Of course. I for one greatly appreciate your efforts for providing us with more pixels in the battlescape. Please do not feel badgered  ;D

Ah. I didn't realize this particular can of worms had its own thread in the forums. I'll just link two reports below for reference.

#643  -  Battlescape icon panel drawn over "hidden movement" screen

#644  -  Battlescape resolution returns to normal without really doing so

Released Mods / Re: [RESEARCH/PROGRESSION] Plasma Needs Elerium-115
« on: May 25, 2014, 09:37:14 pm »
In addition to Elerium requirement, it also prevents researching heavies right from the bat, so researching pistols and rifles are no longer pointless. I'm all for more sense of progression, so this sounds very good to me.

I think I'll use it for my final test run, if I'm ever not late to do one.

Perfect. Thanks.
