OXCE Suggestions Archive / [Suggestion] Chained explosions
« on: October 13, 2018, 10:57:08 am »
Xcom Apocalypse had a feature where grenades and explosives lying on the floor could explode when they are hit by fire of explosions.
I think it was I good mechanic and I would love to see it in OXCE.

It is probably best done by using a ruleset tag, for example:
Code: [Select]
ExplodesIfDestroyed: true
with a default value of "false"

For ammunition with the tag, it would mean that the whole magazine would blow up at once and distribute the projectiles with the shotgun mechanic in random directions.

Is there any use of the Personal Shield Generator? It doesn`t show up in the equip aircraft roster.

No, there is no use yet. Just sell it.

OXCE Support / [Answered] Hit-log does not show hit
« on: August 20, 2018, 03:07:44 pm »
In the attached save:
Try to hit the osiron guard with the blow pipe from 'Bossy Azura' at the current positions.
The attack seems to hit nearly always, however the hit-log (Ctrl-H) always shows a miss.

There are some ufopedia problems:
- There are too many categories, which do not fit in the corresponding window (screen000 attached)
- Spelling: "standard" instead of "standart" (screen002)
- Some texts are too long and cannot be read (see attached screenshots)

The new ufopedia entries for this mod are in part before the corresponding overview page: For example "guard medic" is before "armor overview".

Love the mod!

Found some bugs:
-Bought a Flyer and got 2 of them in 1 hangar.
-When personal shield was bought, nothing arrived but kept getting the items arrived screen every second.

I could not reproduce these errors.
Which version of OXCE+ are you using? The one which comes with the mod or a newer one?

A suggestion for improvement of user interface for this feature:

When you left-click on a facility there should be a third button if an upgrade/downgrade is possible (see image). When you press this button a window appears (like the normal build menu) where you can click on the available downgrade/upgrade options and see the costs.

The "dismantle" button should only be there for complete instant removal. If complete dismantling is disallowed by the ruleset, the button should be grayed out. (Any downgrade, e.g. making a facility to a corridor, should be handled by the additional downgrade/upgrade button)

- The player gets the information which upgrades/downgrades are possible and what are the costs of building.
- The player does not need to know which building he needs to build on top of another building.
- "Dismantling" is unconfusing and has clear meaning.

XPiratez / [Suggestion] show fist attack icon in battlescape
« on: July 20, 2018, 09:59:32 pm »
Many outfits have now an integrated melee attack. It is fine that we can't see the icon in the inventory screen.
However in the battlescape it feels strange to click on a empty box to attack.
So please make the bigobs visible in battlescape in the empty hand(s).

It would be nice to have the information, when attributes hit the attribute cap:

1. As an additional information in the soldier screen (see below), it would be useful to have the attributes that are maxed out displayed in a different color (maybe red).

2. Training screen: When a soldier is in training the values which are not trained any more should be displayed in purple. For example the red squared numbers would be displayed in purple although the soldier is in training. (As a bonus also in this screen the maxed values could be displayed in red)

Is this mod still alive? I played it some time before, and it was so cool, but I don't see anything more added.

I stopped working on the mod some time ago. There will probably be no update anytime soon.

If anyone likes to pick up the mod and develop it further, feel free to do so.

Some small suggestions:

- Robbing B-boys should give "sectoweed"
- Robbing ratman should give "old boot" or "orange" or "Apple"
