Work In Progress / Problem adding new weapons images :/

Hi,
I have small problem with weapons images. For example, I opened proper Rifle image in Infran View then I saved colour palette. I download simple black/grey weapon image then I imported my
 palette setting. Unfortunatelly new image doesn't work in game. Anybody knows easy way how to do it? I tried to use GIMP - I can edit existing weapons but still importing new images doesn't work.
I appreciate any help

- Medikit
- Kevlar vest
- Napalm granade

Research - new items:
- New interceptor
- Phoenix missile launcher
- Laser sniper rifle
- Plasma sniper rifle

Research  req changes:
- plasma pistol req heavy laser rechnology
- plasma rifle req plasma pistol
- heavy plasma req plasma rifle and captured live engineer alien
- firestorm req captured live navigator alien
- cydonia req captured live etheral commander

Manufacture changes:
- plasma clips, alien granade, blaster bomb, alien alloys removed from production
- flying suit req floater corpse to produce
- hovertank req cyberdic corpse to produce

Other changes:
- amount of alien alloys, elerium changed for most items

... and more

Yep, it's working fine. But what to do when I want to use the same file UP002a with two different item? For example to two different type of interceptor

I made new UP002a.SPK file with my picture  based on original UP002.SPK
I put it  to RuleSet:
- id: STR_INTERCEPTOR
    type_id: 1
    section: STR_XCOM_CRAFT_ARMAMENT
    image_id: UP002a.SPK

but game crash during entering to ufopedia. How to force game to load new SPK file? Any idea?
Of course i copy this file to UFO\GEOGRAPH\

Sounds simple but still I cant find out how to remove medikit from research search in my Ruleset leaving original Ruleset untouched....
[update]
- i know how :-) just add extra dependies on research that never came.

Yes I know. Changed values works fine but values that has been removed returns :(
For example:
- I removed MEDIKIT from research screen - with updated RuleSet it will back again

So I made few modification in RuleSet file but very often nightly builds appears overwriting my work. How to update to newest GIT keeping my removed Ruleset values?
I know that I can add new ruleset values and start it in options.cfg but what about strings  that was removed? It cames back with new GIT

Hi,
I would like to introduce my new project 8) It wil be done today evening - I hope.

Changes:
------------
- Medikit available without researching
- New fighter HURRICANE available after researching Alien Alloys (better acc, speed than INTERCEPTOR but still worst than FIRESTORM)
- Plasma Pistol available  after Researching Laser Pistol + old requirements
- Plasma Rifle available  after Researching Laser Rifle + old requirements
- Heavy Plasma available after Researching Heavy Laser + capturing live alien :) - like in the new XCOM + old requirements
- Power Suit available after researching Muton Corpse + old requirements
- Flying Suit available after researching Floater Corpse + old requirements
- Hovertank available after researching Cyberdisk Corpse + old requirements
- Unable to produce Alien Alloys
- Unable to produce plasma clip and blaster bomb - you need to recover from Aliens :)
- Blaster bomb power decreased
- Personal Armour and Power Suit armour increased
- New Sniper Laser Rifle
