This kind of weapon is very useful in my own mod as I delay a lot laser technology and "banish" plasma technology

This railgun will take his place in my armament !

Warning 1 : you should add a "requires" section for both to avoid to appear in Ufopaedia until research as been completed
=> strange is that only Alloy SkyRanger was appearing (?!)
I did not find the cause, and maybe it will not work after research has been done (to be tested)

well, you only require an alien autopsy, whereas Hadan wants Alien Alloys as an additional requirement...

it would be nice if there was a way to include building upgrades and special requirements... like the necessity to improve your alien containment with alien alloy shielding in order to contain the more... volatile... aliens (chryssalids, silacoids).

unfortunately, we don't have a way to prevent only certain aliens from being put in the standard containment, and we don't have building upgrades, and I don't think we have the possibility to have buildings require special materials for building, or do we?

An idea...

If you find a way to do this, an idea could be to define alien containments specifically to any alien race :
- "Sectoid containment" facility
- "Sectopod containment" facility
...

Including a new research "alien containment technology", it would become
- "Sectoid containment" facility needs "alien containment technology" research + "Sectoid autopsy" research
- "Sectopod containment" facility needs "alien containment technology" research + "Sectopod autopsy" research

I like this idea to introduce awards.

Some suggestions I have in mind (sorry but no idea how to model it) :
- amount of x kills in a limited number of missions (e.g 25 kills in 10 first missions) -> kill medal
- x missions in a country -> country medal
- give a retribution depending on kind of medal
   -> kill medal type => stat bonus e.g. +1 Health
   -> country medal type => bonus of +5000/medal to country budget
   -> ...

Work In Progress / [CRAFTS] New SkyRangers

I was using a modification of Skyranger without knowing it was not part of OpenXCom mod but coming from UFO Extender mod (thanks to Moriarty for information !)

Would someone be interested (also capable !) to include this in a future release, as a mod ?

It totally changes XCOM deployment, strategy, possibilities :
- it is now interesting to put some high level soldiers rear
- if get only 8 soldiers, it is possible to fight from SkyRanger for some rounds, before exiting it
- depending on mission, for example if SkyRanger is on a border, it is possible to exit from "protected" side, then hide behind SkyRanger
Really, I can just say this : "trying it is adopting it !"

The only issue I saw is that units deployment contains a little error (one soldier on a door)

Edit : in fact, this mod does not only add rear doors, but floor protection too (it is now possible to hide under wheels or between weels, particularily interesting in case of lot of aliens around SkyRanger !), and is longer than original one (but keeps only 14 places) ; also I uploaded some screen shots level by level

Edit2 : I attached Plane.zip -> To install : just unzip PLANE.MAP under OpenXcom\Data\Maps

About Ufopedia, I noticed that if I change some facilities capacities, as for example :
- Living Quarters = 10
- Research Laboratory = 10
- Manufacture = 10
- Alien containment = 1
UFOPedia displays original capacity

It is not really an issue, as it is possible to update description directly in .lng files, but perhaps a solution could be to split STR_LIVING_QUARTERS_UFOPEDIA in two entries (i.e. before and after "50" for Living Quarters) , and display first part of string, then real capacity, then second part of string.
