You called us (everybody who doesn't play ironman) cheaters first, remember? :)

Honestly, it has not even crossed my mind what i wrote could be interpreted that way. I was only talking about my personal preference. But, in retrospect, i understand now.

Maybe instead of "anything else feels like cheating" i should have written "anything else goes against my personal ruleset" which says "thou shall live with the consequences of thine actions" :)

It's not nice to play dumb like this and ignore other points Meridian made, only so you can double-down on what you have written before. It doesn't add credibility to your claims, quite the opposite.

I believe when someone calls you a weak-willed cheater because he apparently misunderstood what you wrote, you have the right to clarify.

If that is not correct, then i apologize. Your forum, your rules.

- if you play ironman because everything else feels like cheating, then your will is so weak that you'll eventually cheat anyway

It took me some time to understand how you could possibly arrive at that conclusion, but i think i get it now: You think someone who has to choose ironman feels like he has to do it because otherwise the temptation to reload would be insurmountable. Ergo, his will is weak, and as such, he would cheat anyway.

Well, no. I do not choose ironman because otherwise i would reload - i choose ironman because i know i would never reload, so i might as well play ironman. For me, it is "the right way to play".  Losing a save to corruption is an acceptable risk to me (just an excuse to start over really so not much of a risk to begin with).

AND
Why-oh-why did you decide to do a hard challenge (which is playing ironman) if you have not learned the advanced mechanics of the game? It's trying to drive a race car blindfolded, before you even learn how to drive.

Playing ironman basically demands you use any and all the tricks (I don't mean cheating) you have at your disposal to win. How to expand aggressively. Which factions to take on, and which ones to leave alone. Which shipping is free game and which is a death trap. How to protect against missiles. What to research and when. Which pieces of gear are optimal for a given playstyle/role. Using activity graph as a poor man's radar. And so on... You have no rollback, so you have little room for mistakes. And RNGesus will make you commit a couple of mistakes anyway.

Well i can answer that from my personal viewpoint. I play ironman because anything else feels like cheating to me. So any game that gives the option, i take it. (that, and i am too lazy to remember saving when needed, ehm... :))

And i also play (played) blind, because it is the excitement of discovery that makes the game fun for me. Looking up what to research would be like checking who the murderer is before starting to read a detective novel.

That being said, i absolutely understand that doing the above means i will hit a wall face-first more often than not. But i am okay with that - i love restarting to try a different approach (which is why i am so excited about L3 coming out - an excuse to start over! :))

So in short, play any way you want, just don't complain after ;)

When I right click on a line in the purchasing menu it disappears - so now I cant buy plastasteel anymore  :-X
How do I get it back?

In the upper left corner of the purchasing menu, click the button saying "All items" and select "Hidden" from the dropdown menu.
Right click the plastasteel again, then change the filter back to "All items".

Unsure if this should be reported here, but in the rat-hunt mission, I got a disconnected room with three rats in it and no way to access it.

There's a pickaxe on the floor near where your troops deploy...

XPiratez / Re: Question about an armor
« on: July 30, 2020, 06:35:39 pm »

Because loosing it in battle would mean, that it is lost, right?

If the gal wearing it dies then it is lost, yes. But the item is not needed for research (you can research plate armor eventually, but the item itself that you already have is not needed for that research) so not wearing it would be a waste. I would suggest wearing the shield version of it, just to make doubly sure the wearer does not die easily (it has like 80 front armor that way).

X clears everything. But i just checked, the key he needs is ALT-CTRL-X. That clears all equipment from craft that is not currently equipped/worn by gals. I has to be used from the equip screen tho (the one with gal paperdolls), not from the screen where you decide what to load on craft.

I need an advice about time efficient way of dealing with Manson Invasion missions. I really can't be asked to bug hunt 9 levels of that gigantic map, but to extract before map is entirely purged means i lose all equipment that was on my ship but not cried by my gals, and that in turn means before embarking on that mission i have to spend half an hour purging ships inventory from equipment i wont need. Entire thing is tedious AF. :'(

It is possible to save a craft's loadout, and it is also possible to remove all equipment from a craft that is not equipped on the crew with a single button.
So save loadout -> purge ship inventory except what the gals are carrying -> do mission -> load the saved  ship inventory.

I don't remember the keys off the top of my head, but it is all in the bootypedia.

Thanks, I remember, that was one possibility, yes. But iirc, there was one way more, about a screen showing some statistics about that weapon. You know, what I mean?

And some weapons shared ammo, I think: How do you know, "that" ammo is for weapon 1 + 2?

Ah i see. Weapon info is accessed through clicking it with the middle mouse button(at least i think that's the default) on the craft equip screen.

Also, if weapons share ammo, they are grouped together on craft equip screen followed by the ammo, for example

Scorpion SMG
Lynx SMG
    Scorpion clip/API

Hey, guys,

it`s 2 years, since I played and finished Piratez last time.

I completely forgot, how to find out, what`s the correct ammunition of a weapon. Could someone please help me out?

When buying from a store, the correct ammo is one line below the weapon(same when loading a craft). When you find it on the field, it is usually loaded so you can just look at the clip in the inventory.

ok, i have a courtesan, "manufactured", but do i use/exploit her?

how does pimpcraft work?

The courtesan takes a prison spot, and has negative upkeep (so it generates money for you at the end of the month). You do not need to do anything.

This is more a base game issue i guess, but i would like to be able to sort items on the forced sell screen (when you end a mission and have more loot than your stores can hold), similarly to how you already can on the "vaults" screen.

I often find myself guessing what item takes how much space to find out what to get rid of first, and you can't leave the screen without selling/transferring first(so can't check "vaults").

Tip for in-meantime: the biggest offenders are usually soylent, smelly rags, and demon corpses, so check for those first.

Likely more than just six gals raiding one temple after another and got famous for this.

Probably because pirates stile is both known and used in this world.

Like i said, there are six gals, there's a whole planet, and they only raid in pirate clothes for a month or so, after that they use regular armor for 95%+ of their missions. Not nearly enough to make the clothing remembered planet-wide as something special.

And the style is known as "pirate" in our world, not theirs. And it is (was) used in the 18th century, not the 27th one (until the gals started using it).

Hell, even you wouldn't call the police if you saw someone in a pirate costume on the street today, despite pirates being real in our times, despite the memory of 18th century pirates being much fresher today than in the gals' time period. More like point and laugh, then call the children so they can laugh too.
