Open Feedback / co-op main campaign

Hey guys, I'm looking to play some xcom co-op main campaign mode with family and friends. Anybody know if it's possible?
I read the about page which recommended UFO2000, but vs battles or even standalone co-op battles is completely uninteresting without the main attraction: the campaign. I am hoping someone has made a good mod for it and it hasn't been updated on the about page, or maybe a tip of some other game that's close to what I'm looking for.
