Gauss weapons should have Gaussian damage, normal weapons should not.

Rather than being a higher tier of weapons, Gaus weapons are just weapons for people who like Gaussian distributions. There everyone is happy.  :P

Possible conditions for surrender.

  • The player occupies the objective (if one exists) and no active enemies are occupying the objective. (UFO, Temple, Warehouse, ect)
  • If no geographical objective exists, At least half of the enemies are dead or unconscious.
  • The player has taken proportionately less losses than the enemy (IE, if the player had 8 gals, and four are dead/unconscious, then they have taken 50% losses. If there are 16 enemies, than the player will have to kill or disable at least 9 of them)
  • None of the player's Gals are have panicked, berserked, or been mind controlled on the last turn.
  • The enemy has not been seen (and visa versa) for several turns.

Alternately, all remaining enemies panicking on the same turn is an interesting compromise.

At any rate, the player should be given the choice of ending the mission or not, and escaped units should not be worth points. IDK about dropping loot or not.

The biggest advantage of HMGs over Sniper rifles is that they won't be frustrated by chain link fences. Heck, you don't even need line of sight. Just a general idea of where an enemy might be.

I proposed something like this, rather than all panicked enemies counting as captured however, I proposed that the game ask the player if they want to end the mission, and counting all remaining enemies as escaped.

This problem will hopefully disappear soon, as there is a patch to fix Line of Fire behavior available - if it works, it'll probably be merged. When it does, you will be simply getting 'No LoS' messages when trying to shoot through such obstacles.
Which is why you miss, the game lies to you that hitting is possible, while it isn't.

What about over penetration? Surely bullets ought to be able to pass through a fence with only minimal reduction in power.

The characters are actually likable and have interesting abilities, unlike Touma who's superpower is to drag everyone down to his level.

A gal with a sniper rifle saved the entire squad once. Everyone else was bleeding out, and she just stood on top of a hill making one aimed shot every turn until it was safe to end the mission. Given how panicked autofire is the standard for most units in the game, a gal with high accuracy making aimed shots with a good weapon is pretty amazing... Until you try firing at a guy on the other side of a chain link fence :m 100% my ass.

Whoever told you that is a liar. The show's only saving grace is in it's train-wreck value. It gets WORSE. The only reason you might want to watch it is out of morbid curiosity.

I'm not sure what purpose this would serve; is the intent narrative or gameplay related? In the case of the latter as an attempt to curb income from bootlegging, all this will practically do is further increase the player's wealth (if he has prepared any kind of adequate defense).

Mostly narrative really.
