The crew limit is by design.
I haven't played extensively so I can't say if bigger squad is needed. I liked the small squads at the beginning of X-Com Files though.

I am currently in the process of overhauling the Readiness system to something quite different. Just wait and see :>

Can't wait! Not because I find it annoying but because I don't notice it at all.

Yeah, maybe pistols could have a faster drop rate.

I also find shotguns incredibly overpowered too. Their range is just too high. Combine that with the new stun baton shells from the latest nightlies and you have the perfect weapon for your whole squad.

Are you using 1.2? Beretta has a snap shot range of 15 and aimed of 20. It drops with 2 accuracy per tile beyond that range.

I've never, ever, ever even noticed that the Readiness is a thing. Not even once it became remotely relevant. In fact I've been thinking about increasing its effects, because what good is a mechanics which doesn't impact the gameplay?

This is true. I'm not an X-Com veteran and never played above Experienced in vanilla. X-Com Files is my first ever mod that I play and until now, a year and a half in-game time, I have never felt Readiness to have any impact on my soldiers. I mean, are you moving your soldiers only one step per turn?

Seriously though, it's a game and doesn't matter for me if it is for balance purposes. There will always be some differences from the real world:
- But TU wise this pistol fires slower than the other one. In real life, it's not like this.
- This Uzi has faster fire rate in real life. It should fire 18 bullets in Auto, not 6.
- Shotgun should have less range if we calculate the distance in real life meters.
- etc

Is there a percentage-based ruleset available for stat strings?

Currently, I want to mod into my X-Com files game stat strings for agents with Readiness (the mana resource in XCF) below 50%?
