The mod portal is pretty much dead, yes.

But the forum is alive!
Can you point to some of those forum links that don't work?

It's not dead, my abusive step dad is dead, but I am done grieving after a terrible year after the news. Thank you for your professionalism and witch hunt. The modsite will be fixed. I thought you were better. smh

Do you live in a different universe than all the rest of us Joshua??

Your site was more offline than online in 2017... so your "monitoring" either doesn't work or doesn't exist.

Also, the downloads still don't work... since 2 years... I have reported this 3 times already in this thread, now I am reporting for the 4th time!!!
Example of not working download created today: http://www.openxcom.com/mod/test-4

If you haven't noticed, all (and I mean ALL) established modders already abandoned your site and are publishing their mods elsewhere.
Your reputation is already below absolute zero and still falling.

Please, if you don't want to shut this broken site down completely... at least stop feeding us bullshit.
Thank you.

How is this response professional? My respect for you have disappeared. My abusive step dad died and I have finally got back to myself from grieving all year. You are a terrible terrible person. Deal with it. I will fix the problems with the modsite which arent global as we have many downloads and many mods which are recent uploads and working in downloads just check the latest one. The only bullshit that exists is what you have written and you should be ashamed for youself.

Please scroll up users have reported the upload function is working. If you have an issue then please send us a message and we will look into it. You can easily verify that from the new uploads users have posted on the site. Otherwise this is unhelpful as we have been told the upload is now working and you have provided no information in the issue you are experiencing.

I wanna upload a mod, but I can't seem to register on the mod portal. I am not getting the confirmation message. And yes, I know how junk folders work etc.

In fact, one of my emails seems to already be taken, so I must have tried before, but when I try to go to https://www.openxcom.com/account/forgotpassword/ , it just puts me at https://www.openxcom.com/account again. Soooo... no password recovery?

New password has been sent =) The new site will have the Forgot Password working. Thanks!

We will be uploading a new version of the modsite that will resolve many of these issues to meet demands... Markus for the mean time send me your registered email and info and I'll reset your password manually. Thank you!

Wanted to do a fresh install of OpenXCom but the modportal has been down for quite a while now. Hope it will come back at some point? I miss playing my favorite game of all time :)

Are there any mirror sites available that we can use in the meantime? Just need the bare essentials: PSXmusic, Luke's extra UFO and terror missions etc

Cheers!

Website is back online! We have moved the website from DigitialOcean over to dedicated SSD servers! All remaining issues will be resolved soon. Wishing everyone a happy new year!!!

Suggestion:
An option to e-mail notify an author when a comment is posted on a Mod Page.

The comment system already supports this, I will need to look at it and see how we can enable comment notification for everyone as it's already in the comment system as a working function just hidden right now.

Hello,

We are currently in the process of revamping the modsite... This includes resolving the uploader issue that came when we moved to the new servers.. This will be resolved soon. Along with this we are adding Administration capability to allow a group of Moderators to help manage the site and have the tools to manage the entire website.. The Mod Site  is currently going through Phase 2 and resolving current issues and also giving access and power to Moderators to help manage the website..

Please let us know any comments / feedback / ideas / questions and we'll be happy to assist.

Thank you and Happy New Year!

--- posts merged. Man, they were literally 1 minute apart :/ ---

Another bug is that clicking on "images" often dumps you back to the home page.

Every single bug on the website is being put on a bug list. Every single bug will be addressed and resolved. Thank you for reporting!

--- ...and this one was 3 minutes later, WTF? ---

BTW, Everyone please we are working on the modsite right now... Please do give us your ideas of what you would like to see on the modsite... Right now is the time to put your ideas and feedback in and we will be taking care of it.. Thank you and please get the word around so we can get everyone's thoughts and ideas so we can make a plan and make this happen!

Happy New Year,

Jo5hua

Hello Happy Monday! We are moving the website to a much faster server and much more space with a dual processor setup. It's very fast and it's on 4xSSD RAID 10 so it's very fast! The website will be going under maintenance and not reachable until we move it to the new server. There we have new upload classes ready to fix this issue.

Solar can you compose me a list of known bugs on the site to resolve? I know about the upload issue and we're ready to test it and patch it to resolve this one bug. I'll keep an eye here so we can iron out any more.

Thank you!

Hello!

Very sorry for the MIA. I have read many of the replies on here and I wanted to provide some news on the situation. I spent two months building the website out of my pure love of the game... During a web host move the upload function broke due to a minor issue that can be resolved easily. During this time I had also launched a private business which has taken off. OpenXcom has always been a great priority and love for me and I understand the lack of attentiveness to one of the basic features of the OpenXcom website.. I have worked hard and am very happy to announce the following to solve all of our questions, concerns, and future hope for the website.

The company is fully committed to making the modsite work but also exceed in functionality to the community at wide. The platform is a great template for what we can build together, more expecially with unlimited server capacity. We have hired a 100 percent dedicated PHP Developer that will work on behalf of the company. The first task which will begin immediately and be resolved within the next week is going to be the upload / download function. Afterwards we will have our dedicated PHP developer work on a full administrations and moderation area in which the site will have full moderation and administration functionality. While our dedicated PHP developer will at down the road work on other projects, the main priority will be OpenXcom. So we will resolve all issues and we will make the website far more open for a team of great administrators and moderators can manage and make a dependable area for all things related to OpenXcom files.

At this time while we get our dedicated PHP dev situated we would like all features and requests to be submitted. We have a full time programmer on board now which I am showing the entire modportal so we are now open for full continual development of the mod portal!

Thank you let me know your thoughts and, Merry Christmas,

Joshua

Hi guys,

Sorry I have been MIA... I started a company this year and it's taken a lot of my time... But I have great news! I have hired an amazing dedicated PHP Developer that will be able to do many things for us... Including 1) fixing the upload / download function... And also 2) begin phase 2 of the website to add full moderator / administrator staff access to be able to work the entire website.

This full time PHP developer will also be able to work on some of our personal projects such as creating a full working website API to the website. This would allow us to create an in-game mod manager interfaced with the modsite. Our PHP guru will be full time and available to allow us to have continual development attention to the website, and also to add areas and features that we all with to see on the website. So please let us know any and all features that you would like to see on the mod portal. We are no longer limited on time and we can make things happen failry quickly now to the benefit of the OpenXcom Mod Portal. =)

Let us know any features or suggestions you would like to contribute, we want hear them all!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone look forward to your comments.

Joshua

We will be doing maintenance to the server today and updating the linux system kernel to address a security advisory on a vulnerability reported to us today. We expect very minimal downtime and are working to resolve this as fast as possible along with many other modsite fixes discussed previously.

Hope everyone is having a great Friday!

Joshua
