Troubleshooting / Re: Fullscreen Hanging or Locking PC

I was using "-" when I first ran it, but now that I'm running it in a sandbox I've tried them all and they work great, except for SABR which slowed my system to a crawl until I took the resolution down a few notches. X-Com has never looked better! ;D

My personal favorite, and the one I'm currently using, is Quilez.

Open Feedback / An Enormous Thank You to Project Coders
« on: December 08, 2013, 01:59:11 am »
After playing OpenXcom only a few minutes I had to stop playing and come here just to say, THANK YOU! and extend my immense gratitude to everyone that has ever added to this project. The improvements, minute details and brand new features added to this nearly 20 year old game are amazing and are much appreciated by this new XCOM fan. I cannot even describe in text how much I feel towards everyone that put time into improving this game. Alright, enough gushing, now to enjoy the love put into this project.

tl;dr Thank you coders!

Troubleshooting / Fullscreen Hanging or Locking PC
« on: December 08, 2013, 12:42:46 am »
Hello, I just installed OpenXcom. The game is running great and looks fantastic, but I'm unable to play in fullscreen.

Resolutions tried:
800x600
1024x768
1280x720

Whenever the game goes to fullscreen the screen goes blank and the computer stops responding to commands. I've waited up to 30 minutes but the computer never responds, including uses of Ctrl-Alt-Delete, and I must eventually shut off the computer. During the hang, drive activity continues periodically, but the menu music only plays until the end of the "song" and never restarts. I'm unsure if this issue is a bug or user error. I've also tested this with the latest nightly and the same issue occurs.

Is there a solution?

Update: If I sandbox the game, then I'm able to play fullscreen without any issues whatsoever. No delay or lag has been observed, so I'm unsure why it works this way. Regardless, I have no reluctance running it this way as long as saves persist.  ;D
