Open Feedback / Difficulty Setting
« on: March 28, 2021, 09:16:13 pm »
I have a save from a while ago.  I'd like to verify that I chose the right difficulty setting.  Is there a way to do this?

Troubleshooting / TFTD openxcom on linux not detected
« on: January 20, 2021, 09:23:36 pm »
I'm trying to start a new game in tftd.  I read the FAQ, "https://www.ufopaedia.org/index.php/Installation_FAQ_(OpenXcom)" (hyperlink won't take the last paranthesis, don't know why), and I've installed the files accordingly, minus the common and standard folders, and the optional folders.  The game certainly picks up on the UFO files, which are installed in the same .local/share/openxcom directory.  TFTD files are in a TFTD folder, UFO files in a UFO folder.  I've searched both the mods section in the game and the options section in the game.  The mods section has a slider for base game but it will only offer me UFO.

How can I get this working?

Suggestions / Linux Installation Guide
« on: April 22, 2020, 03:05:35 pm »
There are two guides that I found for installing openxcom, but the whole thing is very confusing.  It took me a few hours to figure out what to copy where, and what to name each folder.  I also found a link to a youtube video that is 80 min long, windows 10 exclusive, and does not have time stamps.  And one of the guides lists several dependencies that no longer seem to exist.

Having an easier to understand linux specific guide would lead people to not be as intensely frustrated as I was.

Troubleshooting / Reporting a bug
« on: February 15, 2017, 05:54:24 pm »
I'd like to report a bug, but I'm very unfamiliar with the bug tracker, and don't know how to tell if it's been reported already, past the last month that is displayed on the bug tracker's webpage.

Specifically, some of my heavy plasmas and mind probes have gone missing after successful missions.  They were not destroyed in explosions, but some were used on the last turn of combat.  I was running version 1.0.

So, I should reinstall the game with the nightly version, replicate the bug, and skim the reported bugs over the last three years in the bug tracker.  How do I do that last step?
