Suggestions / Cybernetics - recovering from major injuries

Just a thought about a futuristic idea.  Since there are such powerful weapons that can blast holes in concrete wall, perhaps a future evolution is realistic wounds and the introduction of cybernetic replacements.  Perhaps its a feature that can be incorporated in a mod or some late idea.  If you take so much abuse to a limb, perhaps you should 'retire'/fire a soldier or consider partial or full robocop reconstruction.  Sort of fits in with that xcom 2012 mod about replacing healthy limbs with varying technological replacements. 

Perhaps when your technology level is really high, then it becomes desirable to simply replace with new stuff.  You can use the 'wounding' effects to project how a superior limb will perform in terms of one handed rifle handling, and superior movement bonuses.

Seems crazy that you don't get to choose who to promote.  Would it be hard to introduce a system where you can select who to promote?

Suggestions / Idea from rebelstar - protective terrain?

Just brainstorming and there was a feature which was implemented in Rebelstar which I haven't see in other, later versions.  The idea that moving into certain terrain features gave protection.  Maybe too cumbersome for xcom which doesn't have a similar feature.  Not sure if this was implemented in lasersquad, doubt it.  But just a thought.

What about some single man pillbox or ...  a telephone booth?  Maybe you can hide in a refridgerator and survive a blast or get ignored by a chryssalid?

Or maybe its a feature that the aliens can use?...

On that matter, how about coffee machines and lawnmowers?....

Suggestions / Differences in AI for alien species?

Not sure what is already implemented.  I'd imagine the reaper has quite a different .. programming compared to gun wielding aliens.  Is it possible to implement something unique to every race?  Maybe the sectoids might move further away, which would work out well in night missions? 

I'm not into coding or anything complex like that, but would it be good to implement specific alien behavours?  Maybe that has already been implemented in the original?

Just a thought.  Shouldn't be hard to implement incendiary grenades that are slightly less powerful than the missile version right?

Suggestions / Human vs humans - massive alien infiltration missions?

Somehow I get the feeling, not in the short term.  But maybe in the long term there might be missions where a base is guarded by humans with armour and alien leaders and commanders.  Bearing in mind that once you lose a country, that country is wide open to alien influence.  Maybe they might even send interceptors to take out your transports and fighters.

Ok, so I'm not that serious but surely we need to create a salary system.  I'm not surprised morale is down since everyone is paid the same.  Hey, maybe if you raise the soldier salary, maybe Bravery will go up slightly. 

Oh, and don't those guys ever resign?  Maybe the Aliens can pinch your soldiers for a higher salary?

Earth seems fairly consistent, 1 year to circle the sun.  Does anybody know how the Mars orbit look like?  Just wondering if it does anything weird like some of the other planets, the distances could be quite vast.

Wonder whether the Avenger will return?  Does it have enough fuel or was it meant to be a one way mission?

Or some variation.  Can we somehow modify that ordering so that tanks have a presence?  Sometimes I figure its important to have a human chuck out a smoke grenade before you roll out the tank.  Can this be easily implemented?

Maybe we should make use of city environments more?  It'll be like terror missions and its up to you whether you want to risk populations?  Bear in mind that ufos might crash, eh, vertically, maybe you can have em' crash land on a road or parking lot and have civilians?
