Like said, run them with chiller for a while until they build up their stamina. Then give them the jugulator and your best melee weapon and watch them effortlessly wreck anything and everything without taking any damage.

Forget about stamina management. These are cruise missiles. You point them at the enemy and fire them off with maximal speed. A full powered syn can slice and dice a dozen enemies in a turn. In my playthrough I have 2 maxed out syns - by the time they run out of energy most of the enemies tend to be dead. Your main challenge as a player is to figure out how to not become bored with your campaign. I started house-ruling myself to only let the syns out of the dropship if it's a really dire battle or limit them to just a few kills.

I feel like I'm missing something. What's so great about this shooting from the hip model? Just the fact that visually the projectile would emerge from the "correct" place in the sprite? Because if so it doesn't sound very important. I mean the graphics are pretty abstract as it is. Or is it just a refactoring issue?

If you don't have an instant hard-on after researching Sorceress, it means you picked the wrong codex. Also in general it is quite silly to criticize things you have only vague idea about.
I wasn't really "criticizing", just wrote down some quick thoughts. This is a discussion board, no?

I don't need the doors to protect the gals, I need them to protect my precious stuff. In that Siberia mission I cleared out like 2/3 of the surface in the first turn and then ducked back in. On the enemies turn the tank rolled by and shot. There's not much you can do if a stray shot or grenade lands even slightly inside the craft. Shock and awe is all well and good but being forced to deploy all the gals out in the first turn in such a way as to protect the craft from stray fire, regardless of the tactical disposition outside, strikes me as a somewhat ridiculous constraint in a dropship.

At any rate I decided that tanks are useless and that I prefer smaller teams anyway so I'm sticking with the drakkar until Cydonia.

I have similar feelings about the thunderhorse. Took it to Siberia and an some asshole nazi tanker fired a shell inside. The gals were all in assault armor so they were fine but all the extra gear got vaporized. Shortly after it was scrapped in favor of a nice and cozy drakkar.

I kinda want to try a zombie mansion now, with shock'a'fists and XG pistols. Just thinking of running into it early game is spooky as hell though. Technically I can edit my save and add one to the alienMissions list yeah? Or do I need to replace one of the existing ones?

Shrugger, try it again some time later after you get your menace craft and some properly good SMGs like the mini-cougar. Also try adding a nurse and a seductress or two.

So I finally unlocked higher studies. It's amusing that the saber ultimate fighter looks rather mundane and unimpressive compared to the nightmare. The dragon is suitably badass though.

Does anyone find the sorceress a bit underwhelming? I mean sure it's cool, but having both hands locked is so crippling. Especially if you actually want to use mind control you basically need to attach a support to re-energize her all the time. Also it's a bit unfortunate that the ultimate voodoo outfit can't use any voodoo items besides the built-ins. And the MC itself, I dunno. I need to experiment more but so far it barely seems worth the effort compared to just shooting someone with an XG gatling or something. It's all really just an issue of balance. I perfectly understand that the lategame especially is not finished in this mod and currently the lategame weapons and armor are quite overpowered compared to anything else making special tricks feel redundant.

Yes.

You can comb it. Don't sweat it, take your time and clear it floor by floor. Basically there are rooms where people a guaranteed to be, areas where people are likely to pass and places that you can skip but I'll leave it to you to figure it out.

Most notably you find treasure chests that contain gems which are extremely rare (or buyable from Jack at extortionate prices) and needed to make most of the special endgame outfits and weapons. And yeah, if you roll them up fast enough they start to panic and eventually surrender.

8 is a challenging number. I did it with 9 gals before with at best magnums and throwing stars and such, but I lost a couple of gals. Later on they get easier when you can come with more gals and better weapons. Consider bringing a nurse.

It's everything left in the ship's inventory after the pre-battle equip, so still only the infiltration stuff. Anything not on the exit tiles/ship when aborting a mission is lost. If you plan on running you should remove all the extraneous infiltration gear from the ship.

Try scavenging weapons from the enemy.

Dunno what to tell you. I have most of the globe covered with HWDs and didn't see a single church mission in about two years. And I think they stopped appearing the Eridians or star gods showed up.

Keep in mind that factions can stop appearing at some point. Don't know what the mechanic is (pushed out by a new faction spawning?). That's what happened to the church in my game - one day they stopped appearing and I haven't seen them in years. In that case you can still get a medic from the mission as said above or at worst you can later hire the mercs to kidnap one for you.
