XPiratez / Re: [MAIN] XPiratez - K2 - 2 Nov - Ice Ice Cool

As much as I would love to ask for a download link of a previous version (I was last here 3 years ago). That would be disrespecting the wishes of Hobbes.

It's annoying as hell. I really don't like the decision that Hobbes made, But I also am aware that I can't do what s/he has created, and generally as a labour of love.
I love what Dioxine has done (sorry if misspelled). I'm enjoying all the hard work that SupSuper did creating OpenXcom in the first place.

But it's a bit on the nose to enjoy what content creators have done and turn around and not respect the content creators wishes at the same time.

Finger's crossed it won't be too much longer.

No. Hobbes posted that current versions of mods are fine.

As posted elsewhere, as an author, I've decided that my original work/files in the Terrain Pack, Area 51 and other mods cannot be used anymore by other modders on their own mods.

This applies to any mods that publish new versions after today - you're not required to remove any previous versions that have been already published.

Any unauthorized use of my work will be properly notified and reported, if necessary.

https://openxcom.org/forum/index.php/topic,7617.msg119863.html#msg119863

So from what I understand, any existing mod can contain this content without any issue, but all further versions must have this content removed.

Don't get me wrong, I really don't care about anybody's position on any of this - I am not allowing an extraordinary mod to wither because of some drama between mortals. However, it really does seem that Hobbes is okay with current versions of mods containing his work, so I feel like the removal of the Xpiratez download link is either because of "Hmmmph"-ing, or because of going totally overboard on the response to Hobbes' request.

Anyway. Until Diox says something about why we can't download XPiratez, I can only speculate. Regardless, just hit me up if you want the K2 version (the K3 is a WIP, it seems).

There is a 20 message limit per hour around here, so I tossed the K2 version to the first 20 folks who asked for it the other night.

Unfortunately, I didn't really pay attention to whom I stopped at, so I just tossed it to another 8 or so just now. If I missed anyone, send me a PM or post, though it may be a while before I read the thread and get back to you.

I just realized that this makes me kind of a bizarre xpirate-y Santa Claus. Alrighty then.

Released Mods / Re: [COMPILATION] Final Mod Pack (FMP)

When I go to that download page from 1st post - to https://openxcom.mod.io/final-mod-pack
it says: "This mod is hidden . Only team members and moderators can view it. If this is your mod login now to manage it."

am I missing something?

Sent you a download link. Someone being a dick about something that doesn't matter shouldn't ruin other people's enjoyment.

can anyone dm me a link for the latest build of the mod plz? i know its officially down.

I got you, buddy.

I'm tired of modding communities being fucked over by drama. Happens in nearly every circle of amazing mods. Not concerned with who is right or wrong, personally - just hit me up for a copy of the mod.

I'll add only that the option was removed, but it is now ENABLED for everybody.
The "problem" is not that the option was removed, but that the trigger conditions were made stronger.

Also, people, when you play missions that are 10 to 100 minutes long, and you make thousands of clicks per mission anyway, is it really that difficult to press one more key?

I gotcha. So it's perma enabled.

Well, I guess I'll have to remove the lights on most of the armors.

And yeah. It's difficult to press one more key, because it shouldn't be that way. Everything was fine before, and now it isn't.

Like I said, I understand the trigger conditions now, and can deal with this myself. Thank you for responding! :)

Not any, it must be "personalLight: 6" or more. 5 and less count as no personal light.

Solution 2 is not necessary, low light outfits are already ignored.
If the night vision is not triggering for you then there must be either someone with strong personal light; or the craft itself must emit strong light.

Well, every single mission, with tribal gear, castaway, or anything, must have a lot of light at night. The gals all have "personal" lights, so I guess i'll have to get rid of that on their clothes or something.

I don't understand why it had to be changed from a toggle in the options menu. If people don't like it, they can set it to NAYY, right?

XPiratez / Reactivating Auto Night Vision?
« on: May 12, 2019, 06:04:33 pm »
Hey folks. Thread title says it all. Auto night vision was removed or something, and I'd like to toggle it back on. I tried readding the option to the .cfg, but that does nothing.

How do I add this back in? I know it sounds horribly lazy, but I don't want to L + Scroll Lock every time I get into a fight.

Was there a specific reason to remove this?

XPiratez / Thank you for continuing this mod
« on: January 06, 2019, 03:48:50 pm »
This is going to sound ass-kissy, but seriously...

You people rock. This mod is one of my favorite "games" of all time, and I'm 34 years old (so I've played... too many).

I have never seen a mod with so much depth, humor and just badassitude. XCom is a legend, and XPiratez is right on par with it, in my opinion. You have simply done an amazing job, and I'm going to binge it for the next eight days before I have to hit the research lab again (new job!).

I haven't checked in with the mod since the 6/9/2018 update, and I binged it for a month or so, so checking in today and seeing a simply ridiculous amount of updates since then has made me fanboy the hell out. Thank you so much for continuing to support this mod, and continuing to be badass.

I was going to head off to read the complete changelog, but skimming it I got spoilers - I've only made it so far in the mod, so I love being surprised. Off to binge once again.

Yarrrrrr.
