As far I recall the only mission over 20 turns played was Vampire Castle. It is so damn huge(and bugged for me).

Is it possible to tell me how to get promotions?  I'm not asking for everything here, just small bit of advice. I've been researching but maybe I missed something.
Honestly I do not remember. Try pressing Q while in geoscape, then search for "promotion".

It says for 3 you need to finish with all cults, cyberweb, into the dark and some deep ones.

Most of these are exclusive to some very late missions.
Yes, but can you please give a spoiler when this mission popups. Because for like 5-6 months nothing serious happens. Yet I have seen several Ethereal(normal ones) ships, and 1 base. Ethereal Commander is of course researched.

edit: I just watched several youtube videos of Xcom files and it seems I'm missing Alien Astrometrics to craft AVENGER. People got it way earlier, so I'm kinda worried where are my Ethereals!

I'm at the mercy of waiting for promotions to pop up.

My other issue is I have the van and helicopter. But some missions are literally inches away before helicopter runs out of fuel and has to return.
Is my best option to use public transportation ?

Besides this, I love it. It's a fantastic game. I'm in May of 1998.
Sometimes I used Land Rover, sometimes helicopter. You need Promotion 3?

Im in 2003(and seem theres no end atm) and only do very large ships/bases. Ignoring almost everything that pops up. And still end up with +5k rating each month!

By the way anyone got tech tree image? I'm stuck on 85% now :(

There is night vision integrated.
As for maglites you can turn it on, then throw it away. In zombie missions surrounding your team with maglited is a good option.

Deathpocalyse is those Lobster Mans?
They can be killed by sniper rifles. Normal gauss and lesser sonics are not working against them.

ps. by the way why their death/sound is not from regular game?

Ye I lost game once on some high difficulty due to absurd ammounts of "kill-x-animals" missions on same time spawning/despawning.
You just have to get over with it. Some days you will be seeing nearly zero mission spawns, top weapons/armor and yet still no Ethereals...

Primitive guns? My most primitive gun was HK MP5 then FN-FALL. Not that great but was ok to 6 man down her.

You probably haven't meet yet Terror alien ships with lazer turrets outside. Juggernaut armor gets penetrated easy.

For once I had bugged mob in Vampire Castle map. right-right-bottom side. Had to destroy alot.
