Been using flashlights more then electro flares as a light source at night and im loving how a game this old can still cast shadows so well


I have to 2 Agents (other is behind the car you can see this nvgs) with night ops suits on, waiting in the shadows picking off anyone who comes outside.



Shame more stuff doesn't use it, really shows how well good artstyle and alot of little stuff makes a game this old still shine

Hey just popping back into this thread! I took some of you advice with autosnipers (Those things are really good most of the "AUTO" weapons seems meh but it worked out good) and using the gym to train troops better (I did all this on my original save before i saw the updated save) Took a good chunk of the manors out (hybrid bases and colonlys are still to rough right now)  and did some more crash sites

Hit a floater scout ship (i think) and load and behold i GOT ONE! must have been in total like, 13 crash sites, 1 or 2 landings and 160 Osiron crates. guess i was just unlucky. Already got my fancy new lab up and laser weapons on the way. Usually i haven't made it this far. So any advice for good techs to get or rush would be appricated!

Yeah i just checked i do have "alien engineering" researched. Dropped the save file anyways if you want to take a peak. (I do have X-com Files Alternative Art and X-Com X-Files Resound Mod so not sure if that will effect save)

Guess ill have to shoot down more UFO'S

Right now i'm about mid game and i need the welder as my last requirment for "percise alloy shaping" to then get things like the "improved laboratory (needed for other tech) etc.." so im just kinda stuck right now with real progression until i find one.

Anyone know a good way to get one? Currently need it to progress to more advanced researcher.
I’ve open like 160 Reinforced Osiron Crate and not one as dropped.

I need to start to get getting into laser weapons my pea shooters don’t do much against Mutant  :'( :'(

Don't think i mind the add difficulty on the geo level as it can get pretty dull after awhile and it gives the player something to work on a deal with in the early to mid game.  but i noticted that even with my main base with small radar the only way to see the jets is to encounter them (or spawn in when around a base i think also?) . maybe a eligent way is to make radar more important so you can plot ways to avoid and get a idea on where the jets bases are so you can assault it. this would also make the player focus on other bases to get a better radar coverage around diffrent continents . maybe a short range A-A vehicle like a avenger humvee as we already have the humvee? Not sure how other mods do it but i think it just need some tweaks or some more tools for the player.

Kinda having this issue right now in a playthough (Vet). early game cult helicopters would spawn in around bases but noting you could not avoid or deal with. But the cult interceptors are spawning ( Some from bases that i haven't delt with or a HQ Mission). the issue is i have no meaningful way of dealing with them or escorting them as i don't have the Kitsune or promotion III to get interceptors. so anytime i send out a ship i just have to hope i don't get caught as both the heli and dragon can't outrun them.
