Troubleshooting / Mod Installing
« on: November 17, 2019, 08:49:29 am »
So I downloaded xcom from steam and downloaded the openxcom installer, the most recent, and it installed fine. I went to the openxcom file where the mods folder is and deposited various mods. The mods work sometimes and sometimes not... I cleared it out because after getting them to work I decided to fiddle with some of their variables... well that wasn't such a great idea. So I uninstalled and reinstalled xxcom and openxcom... but NOW it seems like the mods don't work at all... even though far as I can see I have unpacked them correctly into the mods folder.

And the error messages are like saying it can't find files that are very clearly there and where they ought to be according to where the error message says the file is missing at.

Bought xcom from steam and then installed it. Then I got the openxcom installer which opened just fine. NOW it seems the older version of my game works even though I haven't done anything to it.

I don't have access to my xcom stuff... minus what is already installed. Will I just need to uninstall and reinstall openxcom? If so how exactly should I do that? IF I need to do all of the xcom file... if there really is no other way... I guess I may have to simply buy it again. :'(

Troubleshooting / Rulset, division by zero, kablam!
« on: November 12, 2019, 12:18:55 pm »
Hello,

So... I have been enjoying openxcom for maybe about three years now it seems. And I haven't had any challenges with it (minus mods... but thats another story)...

So... I tried to install some mods... it didn't work... the game still worked however. A day or so passed and I was fiddling around in the ruleset as I have for years now... and I tried to load the game and it game me an error message. Oops. I restored the last changes and reloaded the game... now it said 'division by zero error'... so... really oops... I restored a previous version of the ruleset I saved... still the same issue. So... I decided lets go to an old system backup I have from 2018 and simply reload the whole file to see if that does anything... still the same error.

I'm really really really confused now...
