I continue to see people playing 1.0 because they "downloaded it from the official site". We really need something like 1.1 to stop this madness. "Latest Milestone 1.0" on the site is really a trap.

I hope that the TFTD support will not mean solutions in Frankenstein's style like I saw in this thread.
UFO Defense and TFTD don't mix well with each other.

TFTD as a separate game is much better.

I agree, knowing who got killed is good, and i think it would simple enough to added to the mission log.
You mean after the battle?
I want to see it during the battle.

This is useful for live translations. The audience immediately want to know who died.
I had such an experience with TFTD.
Each aquanaut was named after some of my viewers. And when they die, it is a pain to find out who that was exactly.

This is different from videos on Youtube.
There you can easily rewind.

High-resolution mode should be included in a special limited edition of OpenXcom, which will be supplied with a magnifying glass.

I would like to see some sort of battle log with deaths and kills.
It is always good to know who just had been killed.

Also, "gender" shouldn't that be clear from the picture, as it's another field you could remove to make place for more important info.
In OP you said: "either add a gender field, or a character portrait in the soldier stat screen" - in your latest mockup you have added both.
Daiky is right. Gender is not necessary to show. Also gender icon looks weird.

X-Com resolution is 320x200, so it is 16:10 actually.

I always loved X-Com: Apocalypse for this feature.
But maybe it is better to have two switch buttons with clear names like "equipmen" and "stats"?
Soldier's rank sign was always a bit unintuitive.

OpenXcom after the next release will be almost finished game. But still it will not be completely free of the small flaws. So I vote for  0.9.
