I meant Sword of the Stars forum, yes. There is also a member with the same nick.

Ah well, sorry for bothering.

Hello Moriarty!

I have to ask, are you the same Moriarty as the one at the SotS forums?  :)

Crap, just realized that his name is Jake, not Jack... Sorry.

Thanks, Daiky. He might have dropped by, who knows! He knows mods for X-COM and I'm sure he (or others at Firaxis) must have done a wide search. I wouldn't be surprised if OpenXcom is known to them. It is now, anyway.  :D

As far as I remember the original, the only way to differentiate between alien falling unconscious or not was the scream. If the alien screamed, it was dead. Admittedly, it has been a while.

Open Feedback / An interview on XCOM: Enemy Unknown at StrategyCore
« on: May 31, 2012, 11:31:40 am »
Just dropped by to inform you that Jack Solomon from Firaxis considers you guys at OpenXcom for brothers in arms!

Quote
SC: One of the best testaments to the popularity of the original game is the still-thriving modding community and the excellent projects based on it. Do you have any words of encouragement for modders and devs working on projects such as UFO2000 (multiplayer XCOM) and OpenXCOM (a total open source rewrite)?

JS: I consider anyone who has tried to re-create a crazy game like XCOM a brother-in-arms. When you consider how much stuff you have to pack into that game… I’m sure we could swap war stories all day long.

Well, that and to shamelessly advertise the interview;D

Wow, this looks really cool! So the damage is not limited to a single hight level as in X-COM?

Open Feedback / StrategyCore interviews SupSuper
« on: May 27, 2011, 09:15:32 am »
Dear OpenXcom fans, OpenXcom being what it is, StrategyCore felt it is obligatory to ask some questions to get to know the project better! Perhaps regulars won't find a lot of new informations but still, you are all invited to check the interview and contribute to the debate.

I apologize to SupSuper as it is mostly my fault that it has all taken a bit longer for the interview to be published, but here it is.
