After doing research on an alien medic you would get the live research of that same live alien and a random live or autopsy from another alien race. The thing is that the "actual" autopsy/interrogation does not fill research requirements and also still appears in the research tab like you didn't got it before.

Here's an example. I researched an aquatoid medic, and has a bonus i got the calcinite autopsy. However, vibro blade didn't became available for research. Later on did calcinite autopsy (the normal way) and it unlocked the vibro blade.

Even if you get the ufopedia from the research, the game doesn't consider it was actually done, so it will not fill requirements.
I haven't tried this on xcom1 but it might have the same glitch.

What do you think guys? A fix for this would be complicated?

My idea of a useful placement for a sentry gun would be on top of the skyranger/leviathan. This would solve the problem of aliens reaction fire stun bomb/termo shock bomb inside the ship ending the mission right away and making you want to toss your pc across the room.

With a sentrygun the zone around the skyranger/leviathan would cleared of hostiles before the deployment.

What do you think of this guys.

Another thing good would be implement some benefits of autopsies/live captures like in the new x-com's

Guys i was wondering if there's a good fix around for the tftd tech tree. Even using "The TFTD Research Tree Bug Avoidance Guide" on UFOpedia, i still get a missing branch for the disruptor launcher techs.

Hi all,

I want to congratulate the dev's behind openxcom. It was a great surprise to me to find out about this great front-end with loads of useful options specially for terror from the deep, the only game in the series that i didn't beat cause of frustration of its sheer difficulty and bugs.
It's the breath of fresh air i needed to go back to the deeps :P.

Thanks to all involved in making this project possible.
