Thanks for responding, man! I appreciate it! I was really frustrated trying to get Open Xcom to work. I finally got it running though. Just wanted to have more information out there to help me and others liek me out

I finally got it working by going to the Nightly builds. Using the Zip Archive from the Milestones tab just would not work for some reason. Now my main Open XCom folder looks like this :


And all is well

I get an error message everytime I try to start OpenXcom :'(    It is as follows

Any help would be appreciated. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 (pirated) With HD 7950 and FX 8350. I have tried multiple ways of installing the game. Any help, suggestions, requests for additional information are welcome!

Any way you could elaborate on what you did to get it to work and what was wrong, exactly, in the first place? For those of us still trying to get the game to work?

You know what... I think I may of thought of something. I am pretty sure Windows 7 Ultimate likes to make a lot of folders "hidden" and "read-only" and other such things... I will be back...

Yes, I have been getting the exact same error as well. Tried manual as well as the installer on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit with a Freshly installed version of UFO Defense from Steam. I originally had it installed in a SteamLibrary on a separate drive from C drive, then transferred the game over to my regular Steam library on C when it didn't work. Finally, tried a manual install to no avail. Still getting that message... Any help would be appreciated... maybe I just need help having the obvious pointed out in front of me...
