But why does it both go around the door, and close it while doing so, in the same movement?

There's an option to turn on a path preview; it would probably be easier than taking multiple screenshots.

Whoops! Quite possibly, yes.  ;D

I have a hate/hate relationship with the path preview, so I tend to forget it's there.

It's the same when soldiers leave the Skyranger. They're unable to walk straight down the ramp (screen029 to screen033).

But if I ask her to just go to the top of the stairs but not on to the next floor (screen026), she closes the door directly (screen027) and goes straight up the stairs without any detours.

Troubleshooting / Weird AI pathfinding
« on: May 16, 2014, 02:31:55 pm »
The AI sometimes makes some weird path decisions when going up or down a level.

Example: I have a soldier that hides behind a door (screen021), ready to go up the stairs to the next floor (screen022). She first goes around the door (screen023), then closes the door (screen024), and then proceeds up the stairs (screen025).

Troubleshooting / Re: Line breaks in long strings

No, in this case I have to disagree. The indentation makes it clearer that the text is a continuation of the preceding line, and not a separate line.

Without the indentation, the mods screen would be more confusing.

Suggestions / Little annoyances that should be fixed before 1.0
« on: May 13, 2014, 03:36:40 pm »
In the "BASES" screen, I can select the base just by pressing "1", "2", and so on. But I can't do that in the "BASE INFORMATION" screen. Inconsistent.

And related to that, when I hover the mouse pointer over a base facility, the top of the screen tells me what it is. But if I select another base with the keyboard, the "tooltip" isn't updated until I move the mouse pointer again.

Well dang, now I learned something!

Suggestions / Re: Automatically loading magazines in weapons?

There would still be problems with weapons that can take more than one kind of ammo.

Suggestions / Optionally skip ""Now patrolling" screen?
« on: May 11, 2014, 11:58:33 am »
It's currently possible to skip the "Next Turn" screen in Battlescape.

Would it be possible to skip the "Now patrolling" screen in Geoscape? Or have it pop up and automatically disappear after a second just as if I had clicked the "OK" button?

Because that screen just can't stop popping up. It's worse than Pringles.

If a live alien poses no benefit to research, he will, uh, suffer an "accident" in transit.

What about the ones in storage? I had 5 Sectoid soldiers before starting research, and now I can't get rid of the remaining 4.

Troubleshooting / Re: Sound Issue

The nightly builds use an Adlib emulator instead, which should hopefully overcome this issue (using one of the digital music packs also works).

I'm already using the nightlies. Perhaps I'll try the *.ogg files instead.

Yup, that's much better!

I play with music off, and the result is that the "SW Synth" setting is set to zero by OpenXcom, which messes up Windows. If I increase the volume, the music reappears. Which means that the music is never really off, it's just playing with the volume set to zero.

Not a big thing, but OpenXcom really should have its own volume controls, instead of hijacking the controls of the operating system.

Troubleshooting / Improved wordwrapping in build 2014-05-07 05:29

Not working too well, I'm afraid.

The string "Dager/Timer Igjen" (Days/Hours Left) is being split into 3 lines instead of 2, and the result is less than excellent.

I can force a split with {NEWLINE}, but are there other handy keywords available? Is there a list of the available keywords? A "possible newline" or "soft hyphen" would be nice.
