The X-Com Files / Quick Question on TFTD

Does installing the TFTD files in the OXCE folder change the content?

I remember playing (I think back on version 2.6). I think I completed the underwater missions but there were not many missions in total. I was wondering if there is missing content based on not having TFTD in the installation folder.

Thinking of coming back to the game. My current game is Jan 2000. I have only 36% of the research, and am up to Martian Solution and Space Flight, so I am not sure how much more content there is.

I think I completed Dimension X and The underwater stuff... No sure about the underworld. Just looking at the amount of stuff I have researched though... that must be 100 hours at least.

Hello

On the gun profiler, snap and auto shots do more damage.

I assume its taking into account multiple shots hitting the target?

The Blackops Auto Sniper Rifle for example:

The auto shot does more damage, but then drops off massively over distance.

Is the damage actually less at distance?

Or is this taking into account a higher chance to miss on some of the shots (ie all action points are used on auto shot)?

Thanks!

Out of interest, what year month do people usually end up finishing the game?

Im in November 2019. Just researched Improved Labs. Still using Black Ops snipers with tritanium rounds. Bringing in 6.5m in funding a month. Got 6 active bases and constructing a 7th for storage as I keep running out of space... although I just saw the costs for them new labs.

I think coming into the gsme new, the buggest hurdle are the manors as you dont know they are there or that they keep spawning. Not sure if an extra few months to deal with them before the invasion would help?

Man I got tons of that crap from my two hybrid raids. Had to sell all my elerium just to make space...

How do I add a ninja assassin dude?

Str_black_lotus_assassin under items?

Inventing people to torture... Is that worse than wanting to be better able to stab people/aliens/hybrids/cute dogs with scraps of metal I pullled off a knackered UFO? I seem to have lost my moral compass since picking up a macro flamer. Fried bull testicles, anyone..?

I have not been able to train by guys up in ass kicking yet.

Did I need to capture a Black Lotus Assassin?

I think this has passed me by, as Black Lotus are no more. I think I interrogated everyone else but the assassin.

Is there a way I can add this tech by editing the save game?   Ie adding "str_ninja_arts" after "discovered"?

Also, is there something I can use Lo Wo Scroll for, or should I just sell off that and the multitude of ninja scrolls I have ( I need room for all of my alien food)?

Oh... ok

I thought that meant there were 11 Hybrid bases.

I found number one, and I still have one manor to clear.

I just cleared #1, christ was that a ball ache. I geared up with lasers on all my best guys, and they seemed pretty useless. Some of the hybrids had armor... I think mabe Black Ops Sniper Rifles with Tritanium ammo would have been better withthe accuracy damage bonus... Just wanted to try out my new toys... In the end I broke out the trusty tritanium knife...

Got 1623 points and £14m in loot... Not a bad return. Will maybe do the other base with gauss... Problem is my lack of ammo for these guns... What do I need? An alien engineer to manufacture ammo?

I did get the dragonfly. Love it. Gives some cover for missions vs standing outside a helicopter waiting to be picked off.

I dunno... I prefer starting outside in most missions.

1.  Its less effort deploying
2.  You dont get shot coming down the ramp
3.  Your dont have to worry about where to deploy your best guys
4.  You can usually gun down everyone close up on the first turn.
5.  You can GTFO if you are overwhelmed without having to reboard the ship

Obviously some missions will be better with more guys, And it relies on your troops being able to shoot straight on turn one.

My thinking is that since the Kitsune can reach practically the entire world, you really only need additional transports to handle multiple missions at the same time...

Nah... thats giving me Xcom 2012 flashbacks.

We are a global organisation... an Army!!!  Not some pissant organisation than can only afford one transport craft that can only fit 4 people in.... WAGGHHHH!!!

I will have all the bases!!!

I did not realise the Skymarshall had... doors. It took a crack team of the worlds top scientists how long to invent them?

Puts me in a bind, as I feel I should have lots of these now... Which means a hand me down on the transports I already have... Which means I need to recruit more troops in my smaller bases in order to fill them up. I do feel like once the war is over we might have to invade someones country with all this hardware... It would be rude not to.

... Once you get behind that, things will slowly start rolling downhill...for aliens.

I never understood if "downhill" is a good or a bad thing.

Obviously uphill is always struggle... Especially if you are trying to skate.

Ok... so the Rover is the same as the sports car, only slightly slower with a higher capacity, and has a global range... and a transfer time of one hour... using its flux capacitor???

Is there any point in upgrading to Sky Marshall carriers?  They cost the same pm as the SkyRanger

What about the Raven? That is an extra £1.5m pm for 6 of them over the interceptor, although I note the 4 hard points. I am guess they will eventually be needed to take down harder ufos, so an upgrade of my fleet at a sustainable level might be a good idea (Im only in March 1999).

I don think cash is a particular problem at the moment. I am making around £1-2m a month in funding (going up by around 1m a month... obviously with higher costs offsetting the increase). I have a vast storage of "stuff" that I can flog. My main outgoing have been constructing craft. I think I am in a very sustainable position at the moment.

Also, if I sell a vehicle, does it automatically unpack the stuff into storage?
