Thanks for the replies. I think I did finish the Syndicate arc, or at least I seem to remember a tough mission that said something about the Syndicate HQ.

Hello

So I was reading some posts here on the forum and I came across "Spartanism", which according to many users is the best transformation for your soldiers.

But the thing is I am fairly advanced in the game and I never saw any Spartanism anywhere. I can already research "Cydonia or Bust", which if I'm not mistaken is the final mission, and yet none of my troops can get Spartanism. Is this normal? Has it been removed or something?

From what I can read in the docs I'm supposed to get a misterious package from the Syndicate. I've had many dealings with them but no package has arrived.

I do have Psyonic Labs and lots of soldiers with high psy skills, so I should see that transformation, right?

Please help. I need Spartanism!

Hi Meridian

Does this hack work in "The X-Com Files"? I changed the code in file "items_XCOMFILES.rul" like you mentioned here, by adding the line "costBuy: 5000" but nothing happened. I tried both with plasma beams and napalm grenades.

By the way I think you should be able to create factories for making all kinds of stuff, at the expense of... money! I mean, later in the game when you're uber-rich it's weird that you can't just buy this stuff and still have to manufacture it  :P

The X-Com Files / Base defense entry points

Hello people

So I was on one of my favorite missions: base defense, but at the start of my first turn and as I was beginning to position my troops guarding the long corridor leading to the lift (which then connects to the hangars) I found some enemies already well within my base, more specifically inside the "Huge Storage Facility"!

So my question is: what are the entry points on a base defense? I always thought it was only the usuals, lift and hangars, but it looks like the huge storage facility also has entry points?

This base is pretty crowded and the attackers were many. Could there be a lack of space in the single hangar and lift and so they spilled to other spawn points? (I remember reading this somewhere)

Ok, so if I edit the save game and insert this code:

I'll get an alien retaliation mission (I do have a base in southeast Asia, of course), and the first time I tried it a battleship appeared and attacked my base, exactly what I wanted!... except that it never worked again. Now everytime I try to trigger a base defense mission with this code (or similar, with a different location / alien species) some small ships appear looking pissed, roaming around and then just leaving. So how can I make sure the aliens willl send a battleship to attack my base instead of just flying around and then buzzing off?

By the way is the 'uniqueID' field important? Can I just put a random number?

Ok, nice one, but how do you guys know that the save file is corrupted? Isn't there any bad code that can be removed?

I just tried my previous save (an auto-battlescape) and it also crashes at the same point (back to geoscape, after a while). Help!

Hello

I'm playing the "Xcom Files" mod and my save game is crashing (everytime), but first let me congratulate you for such an amazing mod. I loved the classic X-Com Enemy Unknown and this mod is incredible :)

So anyway I do a lot of save game editing (little patience!) and something must be wrong with my latest save game. I've included it, as well as the openxcom log. The error is easy to reproduce as it happens every time I load the save game and fast forward the time a bit.

Please help as I can't live without this game :P

I had no aliens, but I did have lots of stuff in storage. It finally worked after selling and transfering more than half the stuff, but it is frustrating being in the dark about this. A more specfific message of why you can't build would be a lot more helpful. Thanks for your help! :)

I'm trying to build my first XCom Virtualized HQ but I get the message "Cannot build here! Some existing facility forbids building this facility". So... what's going on? Please help!  :P
