Hey Supsuper :)

No that great.. Thank you ;) At least now I'm  a part of this awesome project.. I wan't to continue on the translation, but until July I'm really booked with school :/ Maybe I'll give it a try some weekends :) Hopefully all you devs will take a little break before 1.0? ;)

Maybe SuperVGA will pick it up from here? I think that I have translated about 60-70%, so apart from different ways of translating and small corrections, it should soon be done.

SuperVGA, hey :) There was nobody taking care of the danish translation, so I just gave it a go.. Seemed weird that the game wasn't already translated to danish..

Knock yourself out :) I have only used a few hours on it, and right now, I have to pay a lot of attention to my school.. Exams and stuff :(

I like your suggestions, and I think you should correct it to whatever you think :) Maybe a list of "alien skal altid oversættes til xxx". That would make translating way easier.

Well :) good luck..  I'll check back almost every day, but I cant help much atm.

Okay.. I saw yesterday, that the next release is very close. So I decided to clean the translation a bit, and send upload it :)

ATTENTION! THIS IS NOT A FULL TRANSLATION!

The game is actually playable, but almost everything in UFOpedia is missing (all the techno babble), but I'll look into it this week. Would be nice to have a complete danish translation for 0.5, but until now its playable.

I'll keep messing around with it :)

Hm.. didn't know where to ask this, so hopefully there are both native english/danish people here?

Well here it goes. In english the word "alien" is both used about people you don't know and people from outer space - right? In danish we have "strangers" and "space creatures". Looking through the lines that needs to be translated I tend to be in doubt of which I should use.

I.e: has signed a secret pact with unknown alien forces and has withdrawn from the project
Should Alien be translated to "stranger" or "space-creature-monster-thing"?

Compared to this: This will be devastating for any alien foe
I guess this means "space-creature"?

Does it even matter which I use? As I understand the game, you don't know if it's strangers/unknown people, or space-creatures, so there should be a difference? But as I'm not a native english speaker, I can't tell meaning of the word that you use :)

Sigh... I hope this makes sense :)

Apart from that, I need to translate the loooong tech-babble strings, and then I should be done. The game is already playable with a danish translation. Though some tweaking should be in order. Oh btw I'm missing a danish letter (the O with the line through it). What should I do about that?

Sorry, about all the questions :/ I'm quite new to all this.

Haha.. I'm already a proud member of that club :)

Well, I'll just try to make it work, and hope others will help me out later on. Guess there will be alot of testing ;)

Thank you for the help so far!

Well so far, I have only noticed a few :)

ex: time in english can be directly translated into "tid", but the english can also mean at a certain time on a clock, so that would translate into "klokken". But I guess I must play through the game, and see what is best :) Hopefully I won't need both.

1st, 2nd, 3rd makes no sense in danish. Either we write the number in letters "første, anden tredje", or we put a punctuation after the number - so "st" would translate to ".".

I have used a fair amount of time with the danish comma, and it does not correspond with the commas in the english language, so I guess this should also be corrected?

Apart from that! Danish just sounds silly when talking about rockets, access lifts and such :P

Well.. nevermind :P I downloaded the ENGLISH.lng, and started translating. This is FUN! Give me a few days, and tell me where you want it.

oh.. btw, I already see a few things that does not work english vs. danish. What do I do about these things?

Okay :) So far so good.. Maybe I need some help anyway.

I have looked through the current translations of the game, and I know I must get the ENGLISH.lng, and then start translating it into danish? Or should somebody make a danish, which I can translate into?

When I have completed some/all, should I send it somewhere, or where should it go?

If anybody has a good suggestion for a texteditor for mac, I'm all ears ;)

Edit: found a good editor.

I guess there is nothing going on? There is still no danish translation, and I would love to help out. I have read through the howto on translations the game, and it looks like it suits my newb skills :)

Has anybody started yet, or..?

Hi :)

What is the current status of the danish translation? I would love to help out - if I can :)

Almost two years old :) would really like to see this implemented.

It's a great idea to make keyboard shotcuts :) but please.. PLEASE make an option screen for them. I would love to use wsad for scroll when on the battlescape. Using a and d to skip between soldiers when equipping is a good idea :) though, if wsad was used on the battlescape, q could be used as "previous soldier" and e as "next soldier". 1234 could be the hight of the map.

I often find it very distracting to play a strategy game on my laptop, when I have to rely on the arrowkeys, and my mousepad, when wsad could have solved it for me :/ but often it's not possible to change the settings.

I'm danish, and my english is not used often, but I hope you understand :)

ps. first post, been following the game for a loooong time. Can't wait for 0.5.
