Title: Black Lotus Base Mission
Post by: Kidd on May 08, 2021, 07:36:06 am: Done this one a couple of times now, but can't get to the Black Lotus HQ mission. I've interrogated ninjas, soldiers, etc. Do I need to capture the Avatar alive? And if so, how?

Post by: unarmed drifter on May 08, 2021, 08:39:12 am: to capture the avatar alive (yes, that's needed for the BLHQ) get her shield down by firing smgs/shotguns. then stun grenades, those bio darts or simply clubbing her (if she decides to land on the ground that is)

I think it can overstun thus die if I remember correctly. Unless it is changed.

Post by: 8mono on May 09, 2021, 03:39:32 am: More often than not whenever I tried killing the avatar it would actually fall asleep, so what I do is try to eliminate almost everyone so that the moment it falls the mission ends without a chance to wake up

It can but I'm less afraid of that happening

The blunt grenades from the grenade launcher work even better, since its shield gives virtually no protection against stun damage. It's perfectly possible and indeed ideal to just use those against it exclusively. If you don't have that, I suppose tonfas or wooden clubs COULD work...if you can get it to stop flying long enough to enter melee range and survive its attacks.
