Title: How OpenXCom developed?
Post by: kkolyan on March 23, 2020, 03:16:49 am
Hi!
How did you do it? Just replicated behavior of original game as a black box? Decompiled original and then refactored and enhanced?

Behavior replication for the common things and decompilation for formulas and another non-obvious mechanic details? Or maybe initial decompilation and then a lot of creative work?
I'm interesting, because I hope to make something similar with another game and just wander about how such things did.

Thanks for the explanations, that's quite interesting to hear about how this was all developed! I guess it's the same for many old games that were brought back to life by fans?
