Hello everybody!
Ingame video clips via any other video format other than FLC animated stills?
I have been making custom video's that would go great with xcom via customized edited clips from GNU licence cgi on youtube. I was wondering if it's beyond the programming capabilities of OpenXCOM+
Since it has openGL if irecall you can use a call to bring up an overlay window that could be sized and placed.
If possible I'd like to replace most of the lame air combat with custom made cgi for air battle. Have notices in video and text of ufo landed or terror in video.

No.

If you want to make that as a mod, I highly encourage you to. I would use it (provided the videos fit the art style of the intro), and I'm sure many other people who like cool graphics and more immersion would.
In fact, it might even bring in more people who are used to the firaxcom cinematics.
but offending people's nostalgia by putting in the base game would not work.

main problem is the 256 colour palette, not many video formats fit that mould, FLC does.

That is a shame I thought you could just make a pop up widow overlay and launch video :(

Old post I know just found in old favorites XD
Would being able to give a test video that worked as intro be useful?

A remake of the original video? I would love to see a new original one 🤔

if i could get 3d models i could if they had the images as sprites i Might be able to upscale them then use adobe after effects then convert to avi then convert to format for X-com...
I'm trying to learn more about codeing and animateing.
