Title: Entering battlescape with reaver's faithful mega mod active crashes game
Post by: WaldoTheRanger on December 31, 2019, 07:13:54 am
The only other mods I have active are support drones, expanded terror reworked, death splash, and celebrate diversity (though that one seems to not do anything at the moment)

It does it for both regular and terror missions. expanded terror worked on it's own, reaver's doesn't work even without anything else.
Reaver's remix by Lord Kane does the same thing.

and yeah, I'm the kooky manjaro linux guy.

Now i've installed Luke's vanilla variants (or rather, HellRazor's reposting of them) just to see if some dependencies were missing.
and now it does this:

Same thing, just with "dragonfly.mcd" rather than Ufol83

Yes, both of those MCD files are corrupted and need to be fixed by modders.

That is bizarre because I get no crashes on my system at all with my mod or reaver's mod
could it be a linux only issue?
or a corrupted download?

I just tried every UFO.
Every one and no crashes.

but I will pass this along to reaver.

oh yeah, forgot to update this thread.

It's working now. Turns out that luke's ufos worked on their own, so all I did was copy the file from the standalone to both versions of reaver's, and it's working perfectly all of a sudden.

I don't think it has anything to do with linux -because of the above- or corrupted downloads, because IIRC I downloaded both multiple times during initial testing..

That is weird, really weird, I tested my remix mod and reavers and found no crashing issues at all. Hell I am in an extended play test of my next version. Reaver said he is looking into it....are you using OXC or OXCE? but regardless, glad it works now for you.

Alright I pushed an update for reaver's remix with the fixed UFOL83.mcd file, hope it fixes it for you.
