Does anyone know of a way to boost the appearance rate of UFOs in a month?
-
mission scripts: https://www.ufopaedia.org/index.php/Ruleset_Reference_Nightly_(OpenXcom)#Mission_Scripts
or even just missions/waves: https://www.ufopaedia.org/index.php/Ruleset_Reference_Nightly_(OpenXcom)#Alien_Missions

I have experimented with those Meridian, but the frequency are not what I desired. I want 2 to 3x the number of ufo spawning. IS there some constant or some ruleset segment that define the spawn rate?
-
What is the difference between "frequency", "number of ufo spawning" and "spawn rate"?
For me all 3 are the same thing.
-
No difference, just spawn rate then. I don't see any values listed that could change the spawn rate.
Other than waves.. so that's it? The only other extra spawns that's dependable are Retaliation missions?
-
You can increase the number of UFOs spawned per month without retaliation missions generated by shooting down UFOs by:
- Adding more UFOs to each wave of a mission
- Reducing the delay between waves of a mission and adding more waves.
- Generating more missions per month using missionScripts.
- Creating an alien base that generates its own missions.

Thanks ohartenstein23, I appreciate the advice. About
"Creating an alien base that generates its own missions."
Only the aliens can do this right? From mission spawn? You can't force it from happening on the player side.

All what ohartenstein wrote is what the modder can do.
The player cannot do anything.

Thanks for the clarity as always Meridian. Much appreciated your advice as always.
