Title: Where the heck do you find Industrial Scanners?
Post by: Gyvon on September 08, 2019, 10:53:37 pm
I brute forced the tech by buying Academy Scientists, but I have no clue where to find the actual item.  I can't manufacture my own, because they need the Printer facility, which I can't make until I have 3 scanners.

Seriously, who do I have to rob to find a Scanner?

One of the small ships layouts has them.

Thanks to you both for the help.

For those in the future who can't find them, they're on Science Vessels.

Not exclusivly. Envoys have them as well, and as I said one of the small layouts. Probably some other places as well.

I think there's also a chance of getting one in warehouse raids. Not sure.

I think industrial scanners are those alien table things in UFOs, which would be examination rooms in vanilla X-Com.  So they're guaranteed drops in abductor UFOs (can't remember right now what they're called here) assuming they still only have the one vanilla layout.  You could also try cutters, some variants have exam rooms/ind. scanners.

They're very likely (if not guaranteed) in enemy bases but that's typically a last resort for me.
