Hello, everyone!

As promised (to ohartenstein23 on mod.io), please see attached a revised version of the text used in the game (basically, I used notepad++ to edit the text).

Bear in mind that English is not my native language, but this version should be slightly better than the original. If anyone wants to give the text another brush of editing, it would be better to use this file. Unfortunately, my poor computer skills prevented me from installing a notepad+++ track changes tool.

Just fired up the mod again and noticed there are still a lot of typos  :-[. Promise will weed them out asap.

I just realized that not all the text used in the mod is available in the extraStrings... I need a bit of assistance to locate the other text files, so I can proofread them. Any help would be appreciated! Should I just check out the strings files? I would gladly proofread everything, if I had ALL the bloody text files in the same place! :P

it´s quiet simple , there is the main extrastring´s_40k for general, extrastring_ig for the guard general
those 2 are the main ,
The others are topic related
-stringsglobe- for terrain and sort
-stringufo- for ufo text
-stringscat- for categories
-stringshelp- for the help codex part
-stringsstrategy- for the strategy codex part
-stringsrank- for the rank part
-stringscraft- for the craft related

note that the topic related have all 3 languages in not like the 2 main ones

String files proofread and edited. 10x to Bullet and Ohartenstein23.

Once the next version goes online, will promise to revisit the text. In the meanwhile, all visitors with a decent command of English and some familiarity with the lore are kindly asked to go through the texts.

thanks for the swift reply! do tell if the work is worthwhile. please bear in mind this is my first openxcom endeavor, so mistakes are bound to happen. as I speak, I realise that  there are some typos I overlooked. as stated previously, will revisit the text asap.

2. I just wanted you guys (bullet and ohartenstein23, mostly) that ALL the strings (not just thee extraStrings) have been verified and it's safe to use them in the next update (I tried them myself yesterday, and there were no issues to be reported, just an odd comma or two).

3. If you think there is other stuff I could edit our double-check, feel free to ask.

If anyone if willing to upload on youtube a how.to.mod.xcom for dummies, I would be happy to help with the more menial jobs, such as proofreading or editing. Or anything else I might learn.

Why YouTube when you have a proper manual (https://www.ufopaedia.org/index.php/Ruleset_Reference_Nightly_(OpenXcom))? :)

I see that the latest version does not contain the edited text of all the strings. Something wrong with the files, maybe?

hey man i got a new job for u, the new version got a new chapter to choose from and i need intro ´s for both
Mainly be the first page of codex after strategy chosen so it doesn't interfere with guard

Something like
Force Commander our ultramarine forces, ioioio , planet is f* ioioioio, warp storm arrive without notice ioioio,   our Chapter master is on vacation ioioio , Protect the planet ioio
Something unique for both chapter,
i will maybe create a special individual missions for both that gives something unique that also will stay in that part of the codex

Can hardly wait for the next update! :P. One more thing: just a friendly reminder not to forget to include the other string files I edited.

Also, if you ever need my assistance, I'm more than happy to help. All the best, guys, and take care.

Just as a side note: the latest version (017) had some minor mistakes than were not found in the previous version. For example, the Drop Pods are known as the Sky Ranger :) and some cultist appear as "aliens".

Check your language setting in Options > Video > Diplay Language. It should be "en-US".
