Title: Mitigate your losses
Post by: thejonincactuar on January 03, 2019, 07:45:18 pm
I was thinking it would be really cool if you could mitigate your losses when fleeing a terror mission etc.

Like what if you could knock out civvies and take them on your craft with you when you evac, and you get some points for it?
It would make sense, and its kinda just a cool thing to pull off in a dire situation.

This already works with any captured alien equipment that you have carried into the Skyranger. Extending it to civilians would be a nice attention to detail.

If kept simple, I think all that would be needed to achieve this is to add a check to see if the civilian is in the craft or in the field when totalling the mission results.

It should be at least a way to lessen the cost of a failed terror mission. They're implied to spread as an issue outward from the initial battlefield if you fail. Taking the initial victims to safety should give you the bonus for saving them if nothing else.

It's a very minor bonus that will rather bother you doing something than making overall end-month score look better...
