Title: Instant Battle Options
Post by: luke83 on December 08, 2018, 03:46:24 am
Is there a Ruleset somewhere to configure the Instant Battle screen? I deleted the Soldiers from my OXC game via a mod i am playing with  and now i cant use instant battles at all as i can only see TANKS, i just want to add my new units to instant battle.

Hi, Luke! Yes, inside user/xcom1/ is located a file named "battle.cfg". In this file you can edit the soldiers, weapons, craft, armor, etc. of the new battle generator, even the base layout for the random Base Defense missions.

P.S.: The path is user/My Documents/OpenXcom/xcom1/battle.cfg

Only if you keep your user folder in My Documents... Which is something I have no idea why anyone would do.
Just move this folder to OpenXcom/user.

It's useful for a few limited things, such as testing multiple engines with the same mods/userfiles. Generally not useful but if someone wanted to trim out some OXCE features from their mod that could make it easier to do so, I suppose.

Well, if you really know what you're doing, then sure.
But then you wouldn't come here with questions :D

FWIW, I have everything in My Documents... don't know why I would do anything else.

I don't understand. By "user" I meant the folder in Users which is named after the internal name of my computer. For non-administrators it would be named after the username of the user account. Isn't that what was meant with the initial link given? What user folder are you talking about? I don't have a user folder inside my OpenXcom folder.
