Hello, people.
Sorry for disturbance. I found a peculiar behaviour of rng in the game.
My base got attacked by an alien ship and one torpedo defences' hit did not stop it.
The next day after failing to defend the base I reloaded the save and the same alien ship got destroyed with only one hit.
I reloaded again and again and this alien ship was destroyed by torpedo's one hit with no chance to miss the target.

What exactly is the question?

Doesn't sound normal to me, that's a torpedo system, a single one can't bust a dreadnaught, it'll require 10 I believe combined with a shield to bring one down. In my experience, I never managed to destroy one with a single torpedo system

I assume he's playing a mod... probably it's not a Dreadnaught.

I play Twots. In a few days dreadnought attacked the base. I have no idea what was the ship that crashed from one torpedo attack.

It sounds like the ship's hit points are at the lower end of the damage that the defense system can deal, and you got unlucky the first time. You can confirm or deny this if you find out what ship it is and check the mod for details on the ship's HP and the torpedo system's damage. Also, if you're trying to replicate the original circumstance, you ought to be able to let the ship pass without the defense system firing. That feature might not be in OpenTFTD yet.
