Title: Yearly Release Schedule?
Post by: MKSheppard on April 21, 2018, 05:14:43 pm
Suggestion: Make a yearly "official" release (or every 1.5 years), so that the "main" XCOM executable on the front page is somewhat modern.

Not everyone who visits the page realizes that OXCOM v1.0 was quite a while ago, or knows what the nightlies are.

It could even be like Windows... we have OXC2018, OXC2019, etc., and the odd number years would be generally considered to be less buggy and better than the even number ones (or was it the other way around?)  ;)

It would be nice. I was caught off guard by it at first until I saw someone mention the nightlies had mountains of changes and some mods require it over the last 1.0 built. Outside of making it clearer that really people should just use the nightlies, it would be nice to release a foundation build again.

Addition/Edit: Was the original post not talking about the Milestone download on the front page of OpenXcom? That is still at just 1.0 .

Did someone say 2.0?

Who still plays 2.0? We have 3.10 already and 4.0 is on its way...
