Title: switching between applications while openxcom is running
Post by: scyt4l3 on February 17, 2017, 04:28:07 am
It's a minor annoyance, but in the interest of science...

Switching between applications while openxcom is running works on windows. On linux, I tried with lxde and xfce and their default window manager and it does not.

I'm using nightlies, lxde with openbox. Archlinux. If I launch the game from a terminal shell or a desktop.file it behave the same way.

Any clues or ideas?

It works on Ubuntu with the default desktop manager, maybe you could see if you could emulate settings from that?

I use xfce4 and for me it flawlessly.
I even tested with i3wm (tiling window manager i am now using), works flawlessly also.

It depends how you set settings, i usually use not fullscreen mode but windowed mode with dynamic resolution, from windows size.
Check if Grab Mouse option is enabled, i for myself have turned that off, so the wm keep control of the mouse all times.

Thanks guys for your help!

"Borderless" is the name of the game here.
I tried a few combos of options, one at a time and the conclusion is that the option Borderless enable to "alt-tab" while in fullscreen.

If you use a tiling window manager, the way to do it is to use the resizable option.
