Hi all,
Not sure if this has been suggested but after watching stargate recently on Netflix I had an idea about using the blocks from the Cydonia mission to create a pyramid ship.
Anyone done this in another mod at all?

Thats an interesting idea, I could get onboard with that :-) Not a modder, but happy to do any beta testing!

Turning a pyramid into a UFO would be trivial. :) Well, the difficulty goes up to "reasonably easy" if you want an interception picture as well. Or, if you want to make it an X-Com craft, the basescape, intercept and air combat icons.
But I imagine your idea is something more complicated...

So being totally new to this and watching the tutorial videos on youtube I spent tonight building this beauty, the Cydonian Scout (its nearly 2am and only decent name I could come up with lol).
I've tried adding it into the game to test but doesn't seem to work and throws up a YAML error on startup, I'm hoping a veterean on here can help me out. I used Falko's checker and it seems ok, I used LukesExtraUfos file as a reference.
Think I have done all the paths correctly but any assistance would be appreciated!

I remember seeing some unused/incomplete pyramid ships that are present in the game files, but I can't find the link in Ufopaedia now.

Hey that looks quite good, nice work.
I wonder about the bottom floor also having the yellow slopes, yet a metal floor. Could do quite a range of ships of different sizes etc.

Took a little while to get the interface running and understand what I was doing but is quite an intuitive process after watching the YouTube videos.
Love to do some more variants and even gulp create a custom PCK for it with new terrain detail but alas my skills are lacking to get this one working :(
Seriously hoping someone can find what I've buggered up here lol
The zip file has the .rul, .map and route files within if anyone was wondering what was inside :)

I like the metal pyramids :)
Nice find! I may try and remake them later and see if I did something wrong which is why they aren't working.

Ok so I edited the main rule file to change a large scout to my design and interestingly it doesn't spawn in the battle simulator ... (see empty 20 x 20 space)
When I try to load the mod ruleset I created I get this error
Back to the drawing board me thinks!

Looks like the .rul file is broken. Check your spaces.

Thank you, think I cocked up the spawn points as well.
Will rebuild tonight and try again :)
