Title: Opening up shipping walls ?
Post by: AncientSion on May 26, 2016, 09:36:09 pm
Is it possible to slice open shipping using non-craft weapons ?
I tried using an auto-axe to open up a terror vessel, but it didnt work.

Exterior walls?  Fusion Torch! :)  (This is my standard Cruiser assault tactic)
Interior:  Heavy Gauss.

These are what I have seen to be effective.
A Nuclear Demo charge will sometimes breach an exterior wall, but its not reliable.

Are there armour values and damage type efficiency values for exterior walls so i can see what is worth using ?

Terrain such as craft walls has an armor value that must be exceeded to damage the tile. Dioxine mentioned something like 200 for exterior craft walls and 150 for interior at one point.

I don't know about resists but experience would seem to indicate full damage from most types. Although the specific phrasing of the terrain dmg effect on pickaxe makes me curious.

I used to open exterior walls with a pickaxe but it was nerfed recently, maybe it still works for interior walls?

Pickaxe works on interior walls if you have maxed Strength. For exterior, the minimum weapon power is around 150-160 (for projectile or chainsaw) or exactly 200 (for explosives). With projectiles, it depends on the damage roll, explosives do flat damage against terrain.
