Nope, file not found. Thanks for attaching it here.
-
Done, now the upload works...

Humax, not sure if you still maintain this, but the xtractor stopped working. It wants Java, but Java is installed. Can you please advise?
Your Extractor is the best I've seen, so I'd very much like to have it back.

Hi!
A long time ago, i worked on 0.3.0.0 but stopped it, becouse i had not enough time to work on. So i've only an unfinished 0.3.0.0 Version, but the 0.2.0.0 is still downloadable here. I've just tested it on windows 10 (x64) and it worked.
Do you get en error message by my programm? --> "It seems that JAVA is not installed!..."
Have you made a new installation of windows or occurs the error without any modification on your system?
I add version 0.3.0.0 here , but i think its not complete, but should work also fine. If i remember correctly all things written in the changelog of 0.3.0.0 should work, except the function "choosing the correct palette automaticly"... So give it a try. The java error should also occur in this version, but i've added a function, that copies the errormessage to the clipboard, so you can paste the message here to help me finding a solution.
-
Thanks!
No, it's not working yet, but I suppose it might be a problem with .net.
-
I don't think its .net.
What error message is shown?

OK, that means, that java is not installed or your system doesnt know where to find it.
Do you have Windows (x64) or (x32) system? Maybe you have windows x64 and javax32...
You can try to deinstall java and install it again from here: (choose the version that be ment for your windows version

I am running Windows 7, 64 bit. I have experimented with various Java versions - so far, nothing.
However, the program runs well on my laptop with the same system, so I'm sure it's a problem on my end.
Does this extractor require service packs? I only have the first one.
-
My programm is only a gui for Bomb Bloke's XCOM Toolkit, which needs JAVA. My Programm only needs .net framework, but when my programm shows the error message you postet, i'm 100% sure, that my programm works and the XCOM Toolkit doesn't find your Java installation. You can check this by yourself:
Open the windows programm "cmd.exe".
navigate to the directory of the XCOM Toolkit (with command "cd" (change directory) and execute the file "spk2gif.bat"! If then you get a message like this :"unknown command JAVA" then the Toolkit can't find your Java installation.
-
No, it didn't show me that message. I got this:
SPK to GIF Converter
--------------------
By Jeffrey Alexander (aka Bomb Bloke) 24/01/2008
Usage:
Spk2Gif <spkfile> <palette>
Palettes are:
UFO TFTD
----------- -----------
0: GeoScape 0: GeoScape
1: Base 1: Unknown
2: Graphs 2: Graphs
3: Research 3: Not Used
4: Tactical 4: Tactical
Palette is optional, will default
to Tactical if not specified.
For eg:
Spk2Gif ../UFOGraph/MAN_0F0.SPK 4
D:\ufa_zapasowa\XCOMextractor_v0.2.0.0\bb_tact>

Hmm, now im confussed, becouse thats what the Programm should do, so it finds your Java Installation. So i must think about it...
-
I am almost as far to publish the version 0.3.0.0.
Unfortunately, i had no time to continue to care about your problem.
You can try to delete (better rename to .bak) the file "settings.ini" in the folder that contains the file "xcomextractor.exe". That effects that you must set your paths again. Maybe that helps, but i do not think so, but its a try.
Can you post me the line of your settings.ini here, that starts with "PFAD BB-Toolkit: "
-
Many thanks for remembering.
I will try to resolve this problem during the weekend, right now I can't really devote enough effort.
-
All right!
0.3.0.0 is released.
-
Great! But there is a little problem - as I wrote before in another tread, the download link for BB's toolkit in the discription is not working anymore. I know that you should not be bothered about this but it would be nice to fix this issue - at least for newcomers who would like to use your Image Extractor.
-
It works at strategy core, I just downloaded it last night
-
I Just checked the links, they are working for me...
-
Oh well, it seems like ukrainian and russian IPs are banned on StrategyCore ;D I was forced to use french proxy to enter this site... what a bother.
-
Done! Version 0.4.0.0 is released now.
Further development is not planned.
If there a still any bugs or any suggestions, let me know...

As i've written in post#1, my Tool is a simple GUI for some tools of Bomb Bloke's X-Com toolkit.
If Bomb Bloke's X-Com toolkit don't provides the features you need, i can't do anything for you, but the description of his tool is:
Converts UFO/TFTD image files to GIF and back (and BMP, in the case of PCKs). Supports every known game file format.
So i think you shoul extract all images / sprites that are in these games.
-
Which tool you can't download? my XCOM EXTRACTOR or Bomb Bloke's?
For Extracting the XCOM images you have to browse in your XCOM folder and select files or folders which contains the images you want to extract.
-
The topic contains Bomb Blokes XCOM Toolkit. If the download of my tool does not work on openxcom forum, i upload it here after work (now it's 10.00, i work till 14.00)
-
Yes, Mod Portal is down...
In reply#3 you can download my tool in version 0.2.0.0 . So you can test its first functions...
-
Can you extract other files, so that i know my tool ist working?
Maybe in version 0.2.0.0 these files are not supported. ".dat"-files are supported in version 0.3.0.0
-
EDIT: Sorry, i was trying to extract the UFO and TFTD image files like the bigobs, floorobs, handobs and other images to one of my folders on my W10AW17R2 laptop, and it's not working on version 0.2.0.0 for me. :(
I really cannot get the sprites from there. >.<
It works for me (and everybody else I know).
Extracted files can be found here: https://openxcom.org/forum/index.php/topic,2027.msg84198.html#msg84198
