Title: Live X-Piratez Stream - Also YouTube VODs
Post by: DracoGriffin on November 26, 2015, 02:10:15 am
Hey all!

I am currently streaming X-Piratez (v0.95C) on www.twitch.tv/DracoGriffin at midnight MST (everytimezone.com (https://everytimezone.com/#2015-11-25,1140,cn3) is amazing since so many live around the world on this forum).

If you can't stay awake that late or at work and busy, check out the VODs on my YouTube Playlist (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL5GYu8UswL_FHaqBR2wK327KMYtLZemcm). My videos are nowhere near as pretty as Meridian's or half the production value, but if you need the fix, there it is!

I am currently playing on Blackbeard (Veteran) difficulty and playing somewhat recklessly (as imho, it would be boring to watch myself take 20+ just to get in position for attacking). So far, 66.67% of hired pirates are dead!

Thanks for your time!

As requested by IvanDogovich (https://openxcom.org/forum/index.php/topic,3972.msg55059.html#msg55059)(Thanks Ivan!)

Oh man, your channel really needs some love :)

Proud to be subscriber #2 and I will advertise your channel in the next video as well.

Appreciate Meridian!

Yeah, YouTube is just where I am offloading my videos to clear up HDD space and in case anyone wants to catch up on the live campaign.

Any feedback is great because I have a difficult time re-watching my own stuff.

What settings are you using to achieve 16:9? Trying to find a good ratio while still having the overlay but finding it's always too stretched and ugly.

And to anyone watching from the beginning, it's rough! I'm sorry, but I promise the quality gets better!

Warning: I am terrible at gfx.

So, thought I'd also ask here for some suggestions on Twitch emotes for my channel.

Looking to replace my dracHey (essentially conveys Hello everybody with a Chryssalid theme):

Full body shot with X-PirateZ banner girl's head, Chryssalid body: (https://i.imgur.com/yS1uC2n.png)
Upclose right centered shot with X-PirateZ banner girl's head, Chryssalid body: (https://i.imgur.com/PcIrc0r.png)
Frankenstein chopped X-PirateZ banner girl's head, Chryssalid body waving: (https://i.imgur.com/grcJYdi.png)

Full body shot with X-PirateZ creator Dioxine's head, Chryssalid body: (https://i.imgur.com/D66Mn4W.png)
Upclose right centered shot with X-PirateZ creator Dioxine's head, Chryssalid body: (https://i.imgur.com/ICYsDMI.png)

Any ideas and/or suggestions would be great, and yes, they are meant to be this small (emotes need to be 28x28).

You're playing too quickly Draco... I don't have enough time to follow your series :(

Still only at ep #11... and #34 is out already.

Well, yours is more of a fine wine; to be enjoyed and savor the moments.

Mine is more like a keg of cheap American beer: only useful for chugging.

My plan currently is to get as far as possible in this campaign before I start a new one (on hardest difficulty) with whatever the recent version is; I'd also like to do some challenge runs (Start with Pachyderm or Skyranger or something; haven't thought of a lot that are actually plausible).

I implemented a feature, which asks you for confirmation before mission automatically ends, if there are still any soldiers with fatal wounds.

Now you can turn on the auto-end battle option if you wish and still use the last turn to heal the wounded.

Check is done:
- when last alien is killed
- when last alien is mind-controlled (and psi capture is allowed)

Check is not done:
- when player ends the turn manually
- when cydonia mission is finished ;-)

Code: [Select]
      STR_MISSION_OVER: "Mission is over."
      STR_UNITS_WITH_FATAL_WOUNDS:
one: "{N} Unit with Fatal Wounds"
other: "{N} Units with Fatal Wounds"
      STR_END_MISSION_QUESTION: "End Mission?"

Beautiful!

Just wish I had time to play with all the new toys... unfortunately, had to do a hard stop with some life stuff that came up.

Sorry to hear that Draco, but I understand.  I have been really enjoying your series and will probably finish it this week.

Cheers, Ivan :D

Honestly, you have no idea how often I read your comments and think, "I'm letting Ivan down :(" and wish I had the opportunity to record more. But yes, I look(ed) forward to your (nearly) every day comment on the videos.

I am planning to see if I can do once a week (Fridays morning to midday ish?) but my son has some surgeries coming up, so hoping for the best.

No, worries, bro.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. :)
All the best!
