Title: Let's Play OpenTFTD *Soldier diaries*

Hello everyone,

A new LP has just started, the presmises of this LP is based on the logic that all weapons apart from Explosives are bad, wait wait.... I already tried that, it did not go so well, so now we are changing the tune, basically playing vanilla with little sprinkles of Commendation Mod (I hope Shoes is watching)

I commented on the video but I forgot to add... I had a bit of trouble hearing you over some of the game music.  It may help to turn it down a little next time.

Yes thanks i had the settings all mix and hopefully the episode i am recording now will have better audio. which reminds me to check out the first half :)

Hmmm... Style, what is exactly considered style :) so if you drop and with 2 active grenades and some incendiary grenades, will that be enough :)

You were asking on either episode 1 or 2 how to run, it's actually simple enough though it took me ages to work it out. First of all these screenshots are from my run through of hardmode on ufo but the principle is the same for TFTD. Make sure you have alternate movement methods enabled in advanced within options (picture one), then as you can see in picture two moving your unit without holding the ctrl button on the keyboard moves normally and with ctrl held (picture three) uses less time units. A word of warning though, your units use energy much faster when they're running all the time and can become exhausted and unable to move no matter how many tu's they have left as the amount of energy you recover each turn is the tu's your toop had when he was hired/3 rounding down ie the max energy recovery/turn that a veteran troop with 50 missions could have would be 20. Hope this helps.

SIMON you can also strafe with the CTRL key, which is really really helpful, when you wanna look around a corner. If a alien is around the corner facing you, you get a mutual surprise event. Which means it will not reactionfire you right away and you can step back around the corner again.
Did you recolor some Flying Suit sprites there? And this Sectopod is it a friendly?

Yes the sectopod is a friendly equal to a normal sectopod but not quite as tough as your armored ones, the coloured flying suits are part of the sprite for the enforcer hwp but they can't fly and the third mod I've attached here is a few variations on personal armor which I found useful as it was quite late in my current game that I got power suits. Maybe you would like to add them to the armors for v0.94 as I don't think they're op. Names of the authors should be in the metadata.yml files for each which I created for them as they are quite old but IMHO useful mods.

ps In this current mission there must be about 15 of the armored sectopods, copious use of high explosives with them increased per xcomUtil is happening, was lucky on the first turn as one of the enforcers saw one and threw a he at it and took him out plus another one that was unseen beside the first one.

Lol yeah i know i am overloading them, but i am playing with the notion from 1995 that you need to make sure they carry a lot of stuff in order to make them stronger :D I know it doesn't work that way but I love to do just little guessing, knowing too much takes a little away from the "player" experience.

Personally I make it a point to try and forget everything I know about the mechanism of the game,  I have always found myself adding a lot of wrong information to my xcom knowledge :) so that I can't remember what's right :D.
But yeah I like to play as an innocent newbe guessing what to carry his much to carry and ignoring psionics plus I love explosives that is why you see me carry bunch of grenades and explosive ammo.

Ep.4 Is currently being uploaded will be on soon.

Had some technical issues with my encoder, the audio was recording but the video was stuck so i had to cut the first ~ 10 min of the battle.
And then it happened again but i didn't cut it, so there are like 4 min, so skip the fir 8 min and you should be ok :)

finally a quick and easy mission. And we also welcome our new recruit Hellrazor

A soldier that was killed in battle but thanks to our advances in Generic Engineering we are able to reproduce this unit.
It is clear that prior to any mission our soldiers get "Brain scan" thus our clone will have the same memories as the deceased unit up until battle to prevent postmortem traumatic stress. Clones will be marked with a "*".

I am stuck right now moving computers and i need a new recorder since OBS is not working in my new system something to do with DirectX driver in my video card, either find old drivers or upgrade to win 10 :(. i am in win 7 with an GFX750ti  card. However i think i might just play a few more rounds in my wife laptop :)
