I have heard that there are some different versions of TFTDs great soundtrack. I know at least two of them: 1. the DOS-Version 2. the PSX-Version
The PSX-Version has live orchestra music and I don`t like it, because the "8-bit"-DOS-Version sounds really "eerie" and the live orchestra version completely lost this charm.
My questions:
1. How many different versions are there? Is there a difference between the DOS and Windows version? Or the floppy and CD version?
2. Is it possible to use Dosbox's Gravis Ultrasound emulation in OpenXcom:

There's only the DOS version (Adlib), Windows version (MIDI) and PSX version (digital), and they're all pretty similar.

Indeed, they all sound almost the same to me too. I personally like this version (https://openxcommods.weebly.com/downloads3.html).
It's sort of an enhancement of the PSX music, like UFO PSX music compared to original.
The only problem is you need to rename them accordingly.

Yes, they sound pretty similar! But imho the DOS version captures the sound of 70s, 80s horror movie soundtracks: very dark bass synth
BTW: The "It follows" soundtrack from Disasterpeace has the same "vibe":

Not to toot my own horn or anything, but you might be interested in TFTD's music as rendered on an MT-32 - OpenXCom Forum link (https://openxcom.org/forum/index.php/topic,2330.0.html).

Are there currently any music-mods for TFTD? I particularly hate the tune played, after a completed mission on the geoscape. Usually, when you are done with a mission, you do some wrap-up. And if you aren't really fast in doing that, getting something else, triggering another music tune, this annoying shreek-sound will be played. I hate that one...
