When all remaining equipment fit in the 1st ground page, there will not be enough ground space for storing the newly unequipped equipment (just like the below picture).
I cannot move the 2nd ground page for placing the weapon even using the next page button of ground. This is very inconvenient.
The game behaviors of original xcom and openxcom is the same.
I think this is not a bug and so I post it in this suggestion section. I think the game should let player to put equipment to the 2nd ground page even if the page is blank.

I would also like to see this screen layout changed so we can have the soldier stats clearly displayed, number of HWP on the ship and maybe a couple of different auto-equip options that the player can switch between so when i have multiply ships with multiply teams i know Who can do what and with what gun :P
-
I'll look into it.

Well the inventory screen is fairly cramped, so any kind of additions would probably require a major overhaul to fit everything. :P For now though, you can bring up a soldier's stats by clicking on their rank icon.

Really that works, i did not know that! ;)

I also did not know that. :'(

I like how UFO Extender displays stats:

It doesn't require to change screen layout and it is not hard to implement.

I agree with that although this is a bit off topic ;D

The extender one looks a little cramped for my tastes.
Sorry fr going off topic, its a bad habit i really need to stop :D

An interesting stat I think is the weight / max weight. As there is no other way to know you put too much items on one unit.
The other stats are hard to evaluate, it's just a number. If I tell you the unit has accuracy 44 and you have 2 pistols and 1 rifle... based on what are you giving the unit that rifle? Maybe there is another unit with accuracy 45, maybe not.
I would let the system check all other soldiers and place them in 3 groups(low, medium, high) and display to which group they belong:
accuracy: high
reactions: low
psi skill: none
psi strength: medium
Then you can start making decisions based on that. Eg. giving the rifles to people in the high accuracy group, giving rocket launcher to someone in the low reaction group... It's just my 2cts.

Dividing people into groups is subjective. Different players have different playstyle. Displaying important stats directly on eqipment screen is much better in my opinion.
Also I like how X-Com: Apoc allows you to equip soldiers at any time, so that they always prepared for mission. I think we can add this feature and remember soldiers' equipment.

Micromanagement was one of the UFO strengths.

I wish the game can remember soldier's equipment because equipping the same soldier before every battle is too boring :-\

I think that's already discussed here:

and here:

and various other wishlists :)

Agree. This is must have thingy. TUs as well, but with small improvement to what Extender does... When I click on an item current weight value is changing. Would be great to make similar thing with TUs (current/maximum). For example, when moving items around inventory I'd love to have visual feedback of how much TUs will cost dropping item on the ground, taking it from backpack, unloading/reloading gun, etc. This is crucial for situations, like running out of ammo with small amount of TUs, so you must decide what to do: reload gun this turn, or spend remaining TUs to hide behind the corner, and reload gun next turn.
Other stats are not important to me.

Dividing people into groups is subjective
Ordering is not subjective, only using absolute value cutoffs is.
If you say "high" is the top 20%, "average" is the next 30% and "low" is the remaining 50% that's not subjective. Or alternatively you could simply display the order, eg "TU 54 (3)" meaning that guy has the third highest TU's of the group on the transport.
